With the number of Fibre Operators we have and the varying levels of automation free double speed upgrades can take from 1hour to a couple of days.

The biggest FNOs are usually quiet fast. :)
Hi

Is this applicable to octotel customers too?

Yes it is. If you have a button to click you qualify. If there is no button then it means you have a price override, discount or something else that causes the line not to qualify.

Confirmed... 1 hour (probably less) to upgrade my 50Mbps package to 100Mbps (OpenServe)

Hi AfriNatic, I'm on Octotel is there perhaps anything I can do to find out why it is that I dont qualify for the promotion. I hope you'd be able to assist.

I know that since the speed changes with Octotel a lot of clients on Octotel has price overrides to keep them on old pricing. That could be the reason but I will be able to confirm it to you in a private message. Just send me your clientzone so I can have a look.

Thanks for the explanation, I've now noticed that the speed test i used does go up to like 50mbps for the first 2 seconds of the test and then it dips significantly to original speed I had before the upgrade, which was 20mbps... I've restarted the router a few times... but let's see maybe by tomorrow it should be fine

Sorted. Try again quick ;)

Wow, how did you do that? Now it's the new upgraded speeds, thank you man... just a question, the upload speed doesn't upgrade?

Upload speed on the 50Mbps package for Opeserve is only 25Mbps. So you moved from 20Mbps upload > 25Mbps upload. Not much of a difference I'm afraid.

It's a huge difference, but the download speed for me is priority and im happy to test drive this upgrade until Jan 2021... thanks you!

In download speed yes but upload is just marginally better. Glad we can give you some free speed upgrade until next you. After all it is our existing clients that makes Afrihost what it is today and so it is just right for us to give back a bit to spoil our clients. :) Thanks for using us as you ISP.

How many people upgraded their line speed after the free speed upgrades during level 5-4? I'm guessing that you're hoping for a repeat performance? :)

Myself and a friend of mine on openserve 50mbit who took the 100mbit upgrade are having really strange issues, a speedtest will start on 97mbps or so but within 2 seconds drop down to 50. Upload will be on 50 though.
