Uhm no don't do that.
I had a 50 Mbps line with them and 90% of the time the line speed was under 10 Mbps. Decided to opt-in for the double-up promo and thought if I get 10 Mbps on a 50mbps line then Ill probably get above 10mbps on a 100mbps line and it wasn't the case. on the 100 Mbps line had speeds below 8mbps but sometimes when I restart the router it will jump up to 40mbps and slowly but surely make its way back to 8 Mbps.
Decided to move away from Afrihost to Coolideas.
I have a 100 Mbps line with them and I get the following results

Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test
Use Speedtest on all your devices with our free desktop and mobile apps.www.speedtest.net
During night time, I get more than 90 Mbps download and 70mbps upload
Asked Afritoast support to help, they said that it the router, and If they send out someone it's going to cost R 1000 if there isn't anything wrong with the line, with my luck everything will look super on the day the techie comes out and then I have to cough up 1k.
The funny thing is I am using the exact same hardware that Afrihost gave me, just with CoolIdeas details
So happy I don't have to deal with afritoast anymore

Cancel the downgrade.Dad downgraded his vuma fibre to previous package last night. Got an email tonight that double speed has been extended for another 3 months. How can he upgrade again? Don't see a double speed promo button on clientzone anymore
Downgrade already went through last month. So I don’t have a pending downgrade at the moment, but going to upgrade only gives me the normal price.Cancel the downgrade.
Might not be available though.... see posts from earlier today.
Thank you. Mine is showing as pending and I would obviously like to cancel the downgrade.Yes. There is a Dev issue currently where clients aren't able to remove the pending downgrade. Once the fix has been implemented I will let everyone know and everyone would be able to remove the pending downgrade.![]()
Morning,
Do you have a trace route to show the issue perhaps. If we can get a timeline showing the drops or losses then I can ask our noc team to investigate the issue
Dude this is terrible for fibre. Almost everyone I know on fibre gets exactly the rated speeds unless they are on some lite uncapped product that is subject to throttling. That said I am not familiar with your fno.Uhm no don't do that.

Did you try single thread speedtest to local and coreix london? International will show problems more than local due to increased latency.Well with the results that you have it's quite good. You are one of the lucky ones. enjoy your amazing speeds man![]()
I would also point the finger at the router. Or perhaps at the FNO. Maybe they just got their act (slightly more) together round about the same time that you switched ISPs.Uhm no don't do that.

Many thanks. It looks like the Dev team have updated the clientzone this morning. I was greeted by the following message during which I cancelled the package change and it worked.Morning,
You can send me a pm for me to remove it manually while we wait for Dev team to fix the clientzone button.
Many thanks. It looks like the Dev team have updated the clientzone this morning. I was greeted by the following message during which I cancelled the package change and it worked.
"Pending Package Change
You requested to change to another package.
Changed your mind?
If you changed your mind, you can cancel this package change and keep your current package."
PS - What is the cut off date now to revert to my previous package without incurring additional billing?
So my recent experience with Afrihost Fibre has left me feeling very disappointed lately given the excellent service I have received from them in the past. When fibre finally started being rolled out in my area by Frogfoot in October last year I immediately signed up for a pre-order on Afrihost's site for their fastest package.
I placed that pre-order on October 26th and waited. Eventually I saw info on Frogfoot's website and Facebook page that my area would go live on December 15th. When December 15th came along I checked the ClientZone and saw that the status of my order had changed to processing and that my line request had been submitted to Frogfoot. I thought cool Afrihost is on top of things and I started waiting for someone to contact me to schedule the installation of my new fibre line.
Given that my area only went live in the middle of December I didn't have much hope that my installation would happen last year, so I waited for the new year. On January 6th I decided to contact Afrihost to get an ETA of when I could expect to be contacted regarding my pre-order. This is where my disappointment begins because it was only after contacting AH did they actually submit my fibre request to Frogfoot and only after contacting them did the ClientZone update with an FRG order number.
That order was accepted on the 11th, almost a full month after my area went live, which means it will be another 2-4 weeks before my fibre will be installed! So much for signing up for a pre-order so that I could be, "first in line for setup and activation."![]()
I feel the same.
I got received a notification saying Fibre was available in my area on the 1st of October through Mitsol. So I go through the signup process and leave it there. On the 5th I suspected something was wrong, so I contacted them and I was told that Mitsol shouldn't have been the provider that was there, it should have been Frogfoot, so they changed it for me. From there I waited for Frogfoots map to show my area as live, and then some.
On the 11th of Jan, I contacted AH again and was told there was an issue with my signup again. The guy helping me sorted it out, and I have been waiting since.
My first signup for fibre experience was great. This one is nearing on a 4 month wait now. I understand that there are issues and other companies involved, but it is still inconvenient and frustrating - more so because my parents are stuck with crappy Telkom LTE
Edit: Should have mentioned that things appear to be happening. I received the router from AH last week and I was debited for the installation fee. So I guess I am just waiting on Frogfoot now.

Perhaps @AfriNatic would be willing to give you a demo account to just do a comparison now in the name of science?
Does it make any difference when testing via LAN cable compared to wifi? I have a secondary wifi router which sometimes goes out of whack and drop my speeds to 1/4 impulse.
