No change in line speed here...
I am pending downgrade - not sure if that has anything to do with it.
The line has been upgraded but the account is still being capped. The account related changes will happen on the 1st of March.

Hi @AfriNatic , my area has just gone live with Openserve fibre. I'm trying to place an order with Afrihost but my address is not reflecting as fibre live yet. Can I place a manual order? or should I wait for the map to update/refresh?
doing a speedtest on my cybersmart free account still says im 50/25The line has been upgraded but the account is still being capped. The account related changes will happen on the 1st of March.

Ok sorted, order placed. I am excitedHi,
You can click on the I know I have fibre link and that will force the system to accept your order.
Ok sorted, order placed. I am excitedI will only pay the delivery fee once installation is complete right? and I will only pay once I am connected ?
Ah understoodOnce the order is placed the system will charge you for the delivery and the router will get couriered.
You only start paying pro rata from date of activation.
Ah understoodPity I didn't cancel my PureDSL before the fibre but oh well :\ I'm happy to move over at this point. Openserve doesnt do installations over the weekend hey?
@AfriNatic
The latest Vuma speed promo, when does it end so i can downgrade the night before.
Thanks.
Second night Internet seems to slow down to crawling. My phone auto switched to LTE due to network quality. Last night it lasted about 15 mins (some time after 20:00). Will see what happens tonight. Started around 21:15.
Cape Town, southern suburbs. Vuma trenched.
All's well again. Lasted about 20 mins.
And we arw crawling again.
Anybody else experiencing slow internet connection this eve?
Hi all
Haven't been on here for a long time.
I can finally after what felt like waiting for ever start shopping for fibre since Openserve is busy installing in my street. I would like to stay with Afrihost since I've been with them for years and I'm very happy with the service in general.
A question or 2, I'm looking at the 25 Mbps for R597 package at this stage.
Is Afrihost pure fibre truely uncapped and unshaped or are their fair use policies, speed changes depending on network strain etc?
Then also, on the Afrihost website I see they say the free installation includes 30m of cable, I presume this is fibre cable from the pole to inside the house. I however see other ISP's state the Openserve installation only includes 8m of cable as part of the installation. Can someone confirm this for me please, does Afrihost / Openserve include 30m of cable for free?
Then while we are on the cable running from the telephone pole outside to inside the house, does Openserve run this cable under ground and if so, do they dig and lay conduit or do they expect me to do it?
It's like a yoyo... normal speeds again.
