hovering in the mid 40Mbps on xbsx downloading star wars battlefront, cat6 cabled

anyone have any ideas on how to diagnose the cause?

xbox series x, router stats show exactly whats reflected on the screen

It's hard to say where the data is being served from but very likely a local source. I have a one not a series x and have seen similar behavior on my one.

If you download from the xbox store on a pc you will see the speeds are maxed out. Not sure how exactly xbox handles the downloads on consoles.
 
testing speed in the diagnostic settings I get full speed but the download itself is slow, very strange... will try and experiment
 
I don't know how to start diagnosing this - the system tests fine it's only store downloads that just suffer

Seems most likely, have done all the usual steps such as rebooting, closing all open apps, wired/wireless

pausing and resuming seems to make it work then it slows to a crawl... have 600+ GB free space of high perf SSD and router reflects the speed shown by the xbox

gonna just try later tonight
