Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread

Morning,

I see a notice for a Hardware Failure for Gonubie not sure if you guys are feeding from that Pop.

Status is technicians en-route.

Event ID: NWI-4800
Event Type: Network Incident

Beacon Bay may get from Gonubie, but Sunnyridge is literally as far as you can go from Gonubie here

We have asked for feedback from Vuma Noc regarding this. Waiting for their response to confirm the outage and extend it for the whole of EL.

The status of the outage has changed to Vuma Core East London. We will add a notice and SMS clients.

Also getting poor speeds as well as packetloss and increased latency. However we are going via frogfoot. Maybe a general issue for afrihost for EL?

My RAIN results is 60Mb down and 50Mb up.

@cavedog
You have experience with RAIN, what would you do ?

Since your Rain speed is borderline I would go with Fibre. If you Rain speeds were like 250Mbps+ then the Rain might have been a better option purely based on speed.

Openserve fibre price reductions have made it much much more competitive actually so go for that.
