Those are not losses at all. It's just these access routers intermittently not responding or responding late to ICMP.

Loss would carry through from destination all the way to the end of the trace route. We have recently done some upgrades to our international transit due to traffic so everything should be perfect.

Are you experiencing lag in game or slow international speeds?

I mean, seems very much to be loss, internet is pretty much dead. Including local.

Good evening everyone. Does anyone have any experience or advice regarding migrating from Vumatel to openserve fibre and have minimal to no downtime? finding it difficult to justify staying with a provider that refuses to keep prices competitive. I’m with afrihost as an isp if that helps.

Changing is possible. It takes a bit of timing to submit the cancellation of your current line before the 22nd of the month and arranging installation of the Openserve line around the time that your current Vumatel line is cancelled.

I cancelled Vuma and added new Openserve order and scheduled Openserve install a few days before month-end to ensure continuity.
There was an issue with Openserve activation but mine was a re-activation since I previously had Openserve fibre. It was sorted a few day later and I activated 2 days before month-end. Was charged a small pro-rata for March (2 days)..

Tried this today. Was told that the cancellation would be effective May 1st. However, I could not sign up for the Openserve deal as I get a message from Afrihost saying there is already a fibre package there. According to Afrihost, I will have to sign up on their site on the 1st by which time the cancellation would be done and then wait for openserve to install which would leave me with downtime.

Hi,

Yes the Vuma line cancellation will be processed at the end of April.

If you can send me a private message with your clientzone email address I can rename your current Vumatel service so you can signup for the Openserve line so long.

We have this system to prevent multiple accidental signups for the same address but it causes issues for clients that want multiple lines from different providers at the same address.

@AfriNatic

Please check the subscriptions on the CZ app, if I sub to my area in JHB it gives me issues of the whole of JHB not just my suburb which is quite annoying.

Also we need dark mode for the app please.

Thanks.

Morning,

You can actually report those issues in the app itself. It creates a ticket for the Dev team to implement the fixes and changes in the next update.

Service levels at Afrihost is currently at the worst ever, and for a premium priced ISP, would never say so. My invoice states a connection of 20/20, while connection on the portal is for a 10/10. On a speedtest I get a 10 down, 2 up.

On query, they apologise, say the amount is for a 10/10, and they will fix the 2 up. Get home, reboot whole network, and still at 10/2

Afrihost has no after hours service. Want to move both my business and home fibre away from them, anyone have any suggestions. Dont see the need to pay extra for less.

Hi,

I'm sorry you are having a bad experience with us.

I would like to assist.

Can you send me your clientzone email address via a pm for me to have a look?
