Afrihost only does pppoe on Openserve
as far as I know
Not true here, sadly.Hi,
Looks like the ethernet cable is on 100Mbps. Please check the cable is properly plugged into the router and ONT.
As speedtest of ~94Mbps up and down usually points to a cable/port speed issue.

I've got the full line speed before on both cable and WiFi. The router has issues of speed degradation after it is in use for a few hours/days. From experience it is either (1) throttling or (2) router issue.
Hi,
Yes I know we have been chatting a bit via pm just wanted to mention that a speed cap of ~94Mbps is definitely cable/port related. Could also be fault router but the issue is the speed the port on the router or the ONT that only negotiated 100Mbps full duplex.
Yes- this morning while on a call it dropped to ~2MB up and down.
International speedtest timed out.
As I was on a call I couldn't 'reconnect' via router so I left it and the speed picked up again by itself.
Slowdown lasted around 30min.

@AfriNatic while you're on a roll, please don't forget about meOn another note, while Afrinatic is on leave, does anyone else know if Afrihost offers static IPs for IPV4 on Pure Fibre for OpenServe? Would like to host a Factorio server for a couple of friends and would prefer to not go the dynamic dns route.

Problem seems to be resolved. Rebooted ont and internet back.Hi @AfriNatic
No internet in Constantia Kloof Johannesburg. Router still shows a green light.
No notice on the website.
When it happens can you ping the router?Weird problem - either my OpenServe supplied ONT or my Afrihost supplier Router (D-Link DIR-825 AC) is acting up.
Every so often I would loose internet & LAN (& WIFI).
Rebooting router & ONT does not seem to help, but if unplug ONT LAN cable from router - LAN starts to work again (i.e. I can log into router).
Even swopping router with my ASUS router does not help...
BUT, often when I plug ONT directly into a PC and do a PPPOE connection internet comes back.
I've tried Afrihost support - they reset ports etc. but no dice.
Any help / suggestions?
This happened before and after upgrade to 500mbs...
@AfriNatic is adsl down or only fiber in Lenasia, wanted to know if I can switch over to my adsl fat pipe account.Lenasia area also has issue with disconnecting. i have rebooted the ont and router. the connection stays up for a few minutes and then goes back down. many people in our are using openserv and different ISP all all having the same issue
Adsl is working I tested now it's only Fiber that's down@AfriNatic is adsl down or only fiber in Lenasia, wanted to know if I can switch over to my adsl fat pipe account.
Thats a whole new line... new application, new install. What is the procedure for switching FNOs. If I do it outside of my 6 month period do I incur costs and what costs more or less? Going from Octotel to Openserve. Will want to stay with afrihost to make things less complicated.
