Totally get where you are coming from.

MyBB has been super quiet for us for a while, so Pure Fibre seems to have opened the flood gates

We just wanted to make sure that we have enough guys hanging around the threads so you don't have to wait too long for a response.

As we go, we'll probably thin out and have more regular reps like we did in the past. And I'll always be around until I've earned that kitted out Caravelle that Gian promised me, and I go find a spot on the beach to live out my days

Ok i did some Apex legends testing!

Remember i am stay in Pretoria so take that into account!

Apex data server that i selected was London (161-163 ping ) ==Great

I played 8 games and recorded the IP's and the ping i get to those servers for each game. Below are the stats and location(Hope i got all the ip locations correct)

Game 1
IP: 37.61.208.159 -Germany
PING :175

Game 2
IP 88.202.177.96 -Amsterdam
PING 170

Game 3
IP 151.106.5.253 - France
PING 178

Game 4
IP 78.129.208.179-London
PING 163

Game 5
IP 85.195.101.117 -Germany
Ping 177

Game 6
IP 85.195.114.189 -Germany
Ping 177

Game 7
IP 78.129.240.168 -London
Ping 162

Pings to all these servers looks fine to me. So i think there is maybe just a problem with peering with blizzard? Since overwatch pings are much worse for servers thats also in france/amsterdam?

I did the same with 5 overwatch games but you can't ping them from cmd but the ingame ping was between 195-202

Have to disagree about pings being "fine". I'm in Cape Town. Ping to London is about 145ms.

Ping to the France server, 151.106.5.253: 195ms. Not normal or fine - this was 150ms on CISP.
Ping to Germany, 85.195.114.189: 192ms. Was ~160ms on CISP.
Ping to Amsterdam, 88.202.177.96: 153ms - acceptable.

This explains my high pings in game. I'd expect Cape Town routing / latency to be better than JHB? @AfriMan @AfriNatic - could you investigate?

Afripeople, If I currently have a fibre package with you and I move to Pure Fibre, how quickly will the change take effect and do I need to do it before a certain date for billing purposes?

If I change line speeds, are there any charges?

By the looks of you MTR it seems liquid telecom which is Echonet's transit provider which Afrihost uses for their network is moving your traffic to JHB then probably over seacom to EU hence the higher than expected latency. The last MTR is probably going over WACS to London then liquid hands over the traffic to Cogent which goes to AMS.

I just checked with our Network Team. There is currently an ongoing optimisation being implemented regarding the latency issue that you've sited.
I honestly would not be certain on how soon you should expect improvement on the latency you are currently experiencing.

Don't forget 3 months free, free router and we credit you the cost of moving (which in most cases is potentially a 4th month free).

By the time the free service is done, you're almost out of the cancellation period - you've saved R600 bucks, which makes month 5&6 cheaper.
