Weird. I activated IPv6 after I got a message about it earlier, and this is the first night in ages where Youtube *hasn't* gone to the dogs.

Did have to switch off ONT and router, wait a bit and restart before it picked up an IPv6 connection, though.

Morning,

Unfortunately the YouTube issues is still ongoing. Google is doing the upgrades soon which we hope will alleviate any issues experienced.

For now switching IPv6 on and having it working is a fix for the ongoing issues experienced.

When you say IPv6 enabled, are you talking WAN side or LAN side? If only WAN is required, what settings do I use?

Depending on the router that you use Ipv6 might be switch off by default.

Enabling IPv6 in the router WAN or certain routers have Ipv6 in a seperate section under network settings will automatically enable it on your lan and wifi.

I'm running a UDM Pro, so I can enable IPv6 on the WAN side only if I want but still keep internal network IPv4. I have the option of DHCP6 or Static IP. Which do I use? And if I use Static IP I'll need an IP address from you and I'll need an IP address to connect to?

DHCPv6.

Ok, I think I need a Prefix Delegation size? What should I use there? Do I switch off IPv4? If I switch off IPv4 then how do I enter my account details as you use PPPoE over that?

We use dual stack IPv4/IPv6 which means you leave current IPv4 PPPoE as is and just add or enable IPv6 as DHCPv6. We do not use PPPoEv6 so it's important not to set it up for PPPoEv6

Prefix lenght is /60

Ok, that's exactly how I have it, but according to https://ipv6-test.com/ IPv6 isn't working for me. Not sure where to go from here (I've looked at your IPv6 thread as well). Not sure if the internal network also needs IPv6 enabled for the test to work? If so, it'll be pointless as I'm pretty sure my Smart TVs don't support IPv6

Ok just managed to do the settings as requested in the Afrihost ipv6 setup but... not working still. Using the router from Afrihost. Update: Switched to appropriate thread ;)

Those look okay but very limited options there. Give it some time to see if it gets Ipv6.

Hi,

Which router are you using?

Edit: I see you got it working in the other thread. Apologies.

I’m In the process of getting Afrihost fibre. There’s an issue somewhere with the installation process. Sent an email in the morning. How long does it take usually to get feedback?

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. Did you manage to get feedback?

If not is there anything I can assist with?

Yes sure, I got helped.

I'm just amazed however that a fibre line can take so long to be migrated. Feedback I received was that it is a Vuma issue? Lol it's all a bit confusing to be honest. So I was told over the phone to wait another five business days on top of the 5 days I have already waited.
