It's so odd, I've been testing and tracking this issue for the past few days since it popped up on the 19th, my download speed via LAN is sitting at like 20 down, sometimes its 6. I can watch videos on youtube in 1080p no problem on my desktop. But on any wireless device it's atrocious, less than 2mb download speed. I cant load webpages, images and videos don't load, can't stream etc. Enabling WARP on my phone however boosts the speeds up to about 6-8ish.

On top of this, I have packet loss all over, even on the first hop - getting anywhere from 10-60% packet loss. But I've tried switching modems, switching lan cables, anything I can possibly do to see if this resolves this packet loss but nothing helps at all so either Openserve is having some proper issues or there is damage elsewhere that I can't rule out. I can't rule out the possibility of the ONT acting a bit suspicious for example.

Oh and my ping in any online game is unbelievable, ranging from 250-5000. I've had to resort to using my phone as a hotspot for the time being but this is becoming a real issue since I work from home and even doing simple things like downloading files off the work server just times out. Really frustrating.

Still tons of loss in Durban on Openserve, any one else??
Yup. Received a call from Openserve saying they'll come out and that I'll be charged an unnecessary callout fee if it's my fault. Always about money when they are the braindead ones

Exactly. I'm in Glenwood, but it's definitely something on their side considering multiple people had the same issue arise around the same time
Durban North here, Umgeni side
Edit: and yea, it's been fine for ages, all of a sudden, massive loss

What's your international looking like? 100/50 and that's mine...
Upload is fine now and download is ****. Was the opposite the whole day till you mentioned and I checked. 200/100.
Local and International tests.

As much as I like Afrihost.. the constant internet issues are problematic when trying to work.
I've had issues in the cape that started around 2 months ago on vuma using afrihost. I had a 1Gbps line and I would not get more than 600Mbps on a good day. I also experienced YouTube streaming issues and high latency to certain networks I connect to for work and they got worse after 5pm. Around 10/11pm things you'll fly again.

The above felt like a deja vu to me, i.e good old ADSL congestion days with afrihost. Long story short, I moved to openserve and vox as I just wasn't in the mood for troubleshooting this or that etc. Haven't had an issue since (touch wood). It could've also been vuma in my area and not afrihost.

That said, @AfriNatic seems to be bending his back backwards on this forum to assist users. Without him afrihost would not be the same.

Stay this long honestly because of AfriNatic but I need the connection to work so I can actually work and it's difficult when I get issues regularly now.

Hopefully we can get a view of what's going on either with Vuma Trenched in JHB or Afrihost
