@AfriFella what's the eta on eu routing?
i'm mean literally everyone else has 170 or less:
here is mind the speed:

this is getting old and stale, still getting the odd buffer as the connection to RD just dies, even with advancedsettings.xml
i'm sure if the routing was sorted, this issue would be sorted, still counting the days (ie; saving for the R999 cancellation) to when i can move away.

here is yours:

I totally get where you're coming from. This is something that definitely can't be resolved overnight. We need to liaise with overseas partners and our local international carrier. We're looking at where we can optimise on our side. But this is a complex issue that will require time.

Streamed a 20Gb 4k movie last night no problem...no buffering, nothing. Smooth from the start to the end.

I watched the remastered version of the The Dark Crystal with my kid in 4K on Netflix last night. Streamed flawlessly - though she was probably less interested than I was.

Hoping the new series will be good.

Can't image Liquid Telecom don't know they're using a less latency efficient route out to EU, honestly. My guess is it's more cost effective for them, in which case I don't see them making any changes at AH's request.

It really depends. Changing routing may improve one service but affect others. I am sure there is a cost and efficiency factor, but ultimately everyone wants network users to have the best experience. If the experience is sub-par, then nobody wins.

Give them time - I think this is a complex process and probably requires negotiation and investigation/analysis.

from an RD perspective, well, all i can say is if i'm still battling by the end of the free period then i'm leaving, last night was horrible, saturday was fine.

I recall that you can contact RD support so that they can optimize the route to the server you stream from based on your ISP's provider ( back on CISP it was Hurricane Electric ). So it might be worth a shot - I did it once back when i joined them, and it worked for a while - but it never really worked 100%.

dealing with RD french support is a pain been there, easier to change providers.

@AfriFella @AfriGuy

Frogfoot did maintenance in our area on Wednesday 9pm until Thursday 22aug 7AM. I was not informed about this, at all - once again.

Since I got home on Thursday evening my internet has been borderline unusable. Please check frogfoot's facebook page to see their updates. It looks like their maintenance on the Wednesday has broken their whole network in my area.

I have been talking to @AfriFella regarding my twitch issue and supplied him/her with more info over the weekend.

I tried using whatsapp help to find out what is going on, ETA, because still - no communication. They could not help me, like at all. This morning i thought i would try the Live Help function - It is offline.

Now please explain to me how will you as a company ever resolve issues when: 1, my support ticket has been open for 2 weeks no with only 1 response, asking me if the problem still persists...2: I dont get informed about maintenance, and 3: when I supply you with tracerts upon tracerts (almost 30 tests and results), why cant you fix my ****? Why has no one been to our area's exchange to do an investigation? Why has no one phoned me to get more info, or visited my house to test my line?

It was my birthday this weekend and i spent it constantly trying to get my connection to work. I spent R200 on LTE data just to get my work done and watch the games. Honestly so disappointing, I dont even have any hope with you people anymore.

What more must I as a customer do to get what i am paying for? @Afrihost-Gian Please tel me.

UPDATE: Frogfoot report that the issue has been resolved, so please reboot (if necessary) and test again.

I am really sorry about the breakdown in communication. It sounds like you might be referring to the Frogfoot outage that occured on Friday - I don't believe it was a planned thing. While their team managed to restore connection, we're still seeing many users reporting packet loss and slow speeds. We're working with their team to try and get everything back to normal. As far as I know, this is affecting all ISPs on their network, so we'll need to give them a little more time to resolve.

With regard to Twitch, I know you have been chatting with AfriFella and we've also discussed this amongst ourselves. The difficulty is that we can't replicate the issue on our side. Users on all provider networks are reporting good Twitch performance, and our own tests are pretty good. So we need to establish what might be affecting your conditions to produce the results you are seeing. We'll need to do more troubleshooting until we pinpoint the source :(

Hi

I know frogfoot announced they fixed it on their page, but please see the replies from the clients and then their subsequent response.

They did PLANNED maintenance on Wednesday, and since then its been like this. I asked them, and afrihost what maintenance did they actually do, maybe if fixed my twitch issue? Who knows.

I will have to check it when I get home, although comments on their facebook page do not look promising. Please let me know what else I can do from my side to assist with troubleshooting.

Thanks - I'll ask AfriFella to update you on PM.

Some of those users may need to reboot their ONT devices. But our NOC will also monitor and see whether we see the performance we expect.

it's pretty obvious, frogfoot.

Morning Afrihost

I've upgraded my Afrihost Aeirel fibre with Vumatel to a 1Gbps connection.

The maximum speeds I've seen so far is:
130Mbps DOWN
95Mbps UP

The Whatsapp support agent told me, my fibre modem cannot handle 1Gbps, and I would need to buy a new one myself, surely you guys should come in and upgrade the modem since I have upgraded my line?

Other ISP's have fine print stating the 1Gbps is only for local bandwidth, I've contacted Afrihost, and they said its 1Gbps international bandwidth.

Please let me know if your 1Gbps fibre is in fact international bandwidth and if my modem would need to be upgraded.

Thanks
