Yes, but that's my point. Nimz's line is in the holding pool apparently - so he theoretically should NOT be down....at least not for the last 3 days....

This ^%$^% mustn't happen to me on Sunday - i'm gonna lose my %$%##^% with you lot because i queried this a while ago and each time was told it will be "fine" - no downtime......
Best of luck with that, i'm still in the dark about what is the actual issue.

It looks like it's going to be a weekend without internet

In theory the line should not go down if it's in the holding pool - at least not immediately. @Nimz case is really strange cos it seems to have gone down right away.

We're busy transferring the line across to us, and then we'll be able to figure out why it's down :(

The transfer is in progress - once the line is with us we can figure out why it's down. It might actually be due to a line fault or some other cause :(

How long does this transfer take ? Will he have internet this weekend ?

We'll only know once we have the line and can query it through Openserve's portal.
But that's what i don't understand - the line is supposed to be "available" for you to take/query - hence why its in the holding pool ? Or is it not there ? Maybe we just don't understand the process

So when the line is released by the previous ISP, it moves into the holding pool. Then we submit a request to openserve to move the line over to us from the holding pool.

The line should be active for at least 3 days while it's in the holding pool (I think it might be 5, actually) to give the receiving ISP enough time to transfer the line.

The transfer can usually take a couple of hours, in some cases it can take longer. But the main point is the line should be active in the holding pool, so it's strange that a line will be down when it goes into the holding pool.

OK thanks - that makes more sense now. Really hope mine doesn't drop on Sunday

Can I send my alcohol bill to Afrihost?

And you are 100% sure the line is released to the holding pool. @TheV also had the migration failed but line migration took just a few minutes after the manual migration order was placed. My line took like 2 hours or so then it was migrated on a Friday evening. Something obviously wrong with your B number.

Definitely released, I spoke to 3 different people and the manager at the previous ISP. Also Afrihost advised that the line was released and the order is executing and awaiting Openserve to override something.

Indeed! It was very quick to resolve once I got hold of the right person. The first support person assured me it was a faulty LAN cable :|
Oh and my line was in the holding pool for 29 days ... so a little over 3-5 days is possible :P

I was promised it would be working today as that was the 48 hour period, now they give me some bullshit about it being 48 working hours and that I'll only be connected next week

Lies upon lies

What the actual fsck Afrihost?
@AfriMan your support staff don't know their arse from their elbow

Not a good start for you. I don't understand why they don't just place a manual order.... IF your B number is in the holding pool the the migration is automatically and takes a few hours at most but usually a few minutes.

You are officially STORMERSFAN 2.0 - you get a 4th month free - I would insist on it if i was you. Crap like this REALLY gets me hot under the collar - it's NOT on.

@AfriMan @AfriFella

So today my line is being released by Cool Ideas.
Today is Saturday.

I was told my WhatsApp support staffmember, Ntombi H, that I might be without internet for a few days.
Tomorrow is Sunday. Is there any way we can have internet at least by Monday, since my wife is dependent on it as she works from home?

Also, am I still getting my free months since I had to wait this whole month for Cool Ideas to release my line?
