Same, buffering started about 10 mins ago... stats for needs showing around 400kbps for me

It's really frustrating because I'm trying to work and game but with WARP on the latency is more unstable and with it off I can't work Really hope it gets sorted soon. I've noticed that for me it's at its worst around the evening, what about you?

Hi all, I need some it nerds that know how to work a network sniffer to assist with proving the afrihost/vumatel DDOS issues. I've been playing nice now for 2 months trying to get there engineers to believe me, but now need more amo to get this problem resolved.

Yes it's usually worse around the evening's and late night

VPN to Spain and I get... well, not great but at least not terrible speeds. Weirdly it does go up if I just use SA, but only to like 10m instead of 50m+. Still beats the 294k(!) that I was getting before connecting to VPN.

Was watching a 4K video in the browser, all was well for 7 minutes then just now - nothing.

Copied the video link into 4Kdownloader and it downloaded at 60mbps in less than a minute... WTF?

It seems intermittent. I can reproduce the issue on my Metrofibre line but some of my colleagues can't and they don't see any issues.

We are still investigating the issue.

i've been getting told that tail for ages. really wish I could post on this public forum how to replicate the DDOS on demand, but then might not be able to whatch my netflix later

from my testing, other ISP's might have same issue

all I need at moment is more people on vumatel network to assist with a sniffer to see how big the issue really is

Also having bad youtube performance last few days (some other website seems sluggish as well)
(Openserve 500/250) , Gauteng.
First thought it might be my line, gave everything a cold boot this mornign without change. Youtube not even able to play 1080p tonight
odd part is, if i access via a VPN(Netherland) youtube speed seems fine.

NNTP downloads does not seem to be drastically affected, nor google drive upload/download.

any method to provide youtube specific feedback?

*issue seems to be intermittent, as re-testing an hour later does not produce the same issue.

Also been experiencing slow youtube speeds all week, having to resort to 4K Downloader in order to watch anything without buffering.

Upload speeds to transfer.pcloud.com has also been extremely slow.

Can concur, YT was buffery today. MFN 50/50 Durban.

I've also been seeing a lot of YT stuttering this week. Have to drop the resolution for videos to play - 1080p and above is a crap shoot. Will work great and then all the sudden would stop dead

Please can you send me a pm with your email address and a screenshot of the stats for nerds and if possible the serving server IP that is causing the slow speeds from YT. We are gathering some info to escalate the matter to Google.

I can't attach pics in PMs for some reason. See pic below for info. Was playing great at 1080p till around 10:45 and then started buffering. After a minute or so it started playing back at 480p



Wetransfer downloads are also failing; not sure if there's a connection there

For anyone in the same boat as me with Afrihost + Octotel...
Afrihost blames Octotel, Octotel has done tests with me showing that the connection/line between my ONT and them is perfect... in almost a year of fighting it turns out Afrihost has only ever logged two tickets with them...
And now that the two are figuring things out things have gotten even worse. Constant disconnects and time outs.
