Any news on when latencies will be back to useable for gaming on the EU realms?
Seems like there is a delay on getting EASSy fully repaired. They're having to dig up the cable that's buried under meters of earth that's already underwater. They're shipping out some special equipment to sort this out. That was the info I got a few days ago, so I'm hopeful this is all well underway by now.
Will post info as soon as they give an official ETR![]()
Being too lazy to search through news feeds, what exactly happened to the cable to damage it?

Just moved to Afrihost today after being really impressed with the free 1GB account, but now that I`m on the 4Mbps Uncapped account Steam and Origin downloads are crawling and even local browsing is sometimes slow. The only thing that worked fine was torrents. Speedtests give me 0.70Mbps :erm:
EASSy cable break or not, everything's working fine as it should...

I had a Mweb 2mbps uncapped account and most days I couldnt stream 720p now that im with Afrihost i've never had a single problem so far SO AWESOME <3
As far as we know, a ship dragging it's anchor of the coast of Egypt damaged Seacom and EASSy, as well as some other cables that terminate in East Africa. There was another story in the media about diver's cutting undersea cables, but officially we have not been told that there is any link.
Fack! Thought the move to Afrihost would sort out all my issues. Could it be my router? I got a crappy Telkom DuoPlus 300w
Could you post a tracert to, say, afrihost.com?
