Afrihost Uncapped DSL Feedback

at the moment i'm looking for another ISP.

from your CC team:

So in other words i should just live with 0kb http downloads between 6 and 10pm because its a managed protocol.

How much data do you use on average per month? Have you considered going for a Capped Solution and scheduling downloads after hours to run during Free-Time?

You missing the point, I really have no problem with shaping, But if I can't download anything over http (unless it in your whitelist) on the weekdays during peak, there is something seriously wrong with your network.

I must email your CC this evening when its happening so lets wait and see shall we.

Where is your latency coming in when you say it fluctuates to Google? Could you please ping bras.afrihost.com instead of running a trace to it?

How is your connection performing this morning? :)

Not aware of any general issues with DSTV services at the moment. Would you be able to run a trace or MTR to the affected server?

dammit this morning its fine.you are very sneaky! will check tonight again. funny thing. when I stream from YouTube. it picks it up as a video file that is streaming. but when I stream from DSTV it picks it up as a File download so even on my system it slows it down.I have bypassed this to not be an issue on my side. could it be that the dstv streaming service is being incorrectly classified on your side?
