Afrihost Uncapped DSL Feedback

Is anyone else having P2P issues during the daytime, my torrents are only going fullspeed from 11pm to 8am for the last 2 days, then during the day barely 5kbs. I'm on a 2mb business line, supposed to be no shaping, what gives Afrihost ?

48 hours since reporting a fault to Telkom 177CRZ071017. First it was syncing very slowly, now it's dead.
Tried reporting to Afrihost but took 13 hours for a call back and no replies to emails.

We don't generally shape business, only if the network is under strain. I don't believe that's the case as we've recently done some big upgrades.

Have you compared with a capped account?

Sorry about the long wait :(

Have they sorted you out yet?

It came right on its own this morning, and working as it should now

What is the throttle threshold on the 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps home uncapped packages respectively?
I'm thinking of moving to one of these, it will basically just be a backup for the Rain LTE.

It's been a week and I've gone from slow connection to no connection back to slow. Tonight I'm seeing pings of ~600 and downstream of 0.02Mbps on an 8Mbps line.
All I hear is that it's escalated and with specialists but no real feedback or any sign of a resolution.

:( That's not cool to hear at all! We should have some updates for you by now, could you PM me your details and I'll check what's going on.

Every Monday morning from 8:00 - 08:30 the internet turns to stone.

Pretty funny actually, just like how it gets super unresponsive everyday at lunch. Surely if you guys know there is going to be lots of traffic coming during certain hours there is some measures that can be taken beforehand.

May I ask you fine fellows to take a look into this issue please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there

You can usually expect that traffic will spike at 8am (especially on a Monday) when businesses log on. However we anticipate this as much as possible in our capacity planning to ensure all our clients have a good experience.

You definitely shouldn't be seeing this regularly. Remember that you could also be seeing the same rise in demand on your local exchange, which can affect your experience.

A traceroute should tell us where the latency originates :(

Doesn't look good at all :(

As far as I know Durban should be rocking. Can you please ping bras.afrihost.com so I can see your exchange latency?

Latency seems to be spiking here around the overseas mark. :( I can see that you're testing to a battle.net server. Did you see any issues outside of the battle.net network? How did your general connection perform?

I didn't really do much testing besides having horrible ping in Overwatch and doing this ping test. It resolved after 2 hours or so of my post.
