Do Afrihost's new business accounts also have rolling Windows - I have been waiting for a decent uncapped unshaped product.

Hi there,

I am using the 10 meg business service from Afrihost, but I don't understand your terminology of "rolling windows". Can you elaborate?

Kind regards
Pete

Rolling Window - A part of the acceptable usage policy - it throttles you after downloading a certain amount of GB's- Theoretically with a 10mb unshaped line you should be able to attain 3TB a month.

Yes, we do employ a rolling window, but the bandwidth is completely unshaped and unthrottled during office hours, no matter what the rolling limit is. After hours, bandwidth remains unshaped, but could be rate limited - to what speed depends on the package. returns to full speed the very next morning.

Still 120GB per rolling 7 day period?

I depends on the account speed, I posted these somewhere

Here it is :)

Package - 7 Day Rolling Limit - Max Throttle (after hours)
1Mbps 80GB+ 512kbps
2Mbps 120GB+ 1Mbps
4Mbps 160GB+ 2Mbps
6Mbps 200GB+ 2Mbps
8Mbps 240GB+ 2Mbps
10Mbps 320GB+ 2Mbps

Hello,

I do not understand rolling window. I am on a 10 meg business line and have just tested my speed. I am getting approximately 1.5 -2 meg down to London, and my full 1 meg up. I have not used anywhere near 320gb, but it is out of hours. Why is my download slow?

Kind regards
Pete

Still having international issues. I guess no one replied due to this just being an afrihost issue?

They are having a few teething problems with their new network, it's not the rolling window.
