R2500? Assuming you didn't buy a pouch/bag for it? I bought a slip in zip pouch for protection. Mine came to about R2800.
I was soooooe excited when I got mine too. I'm still excited
Nothing special when you have to turn it on. It does take like a minute or two to do it's initial boot though. The instructions on the screen mos say you have to plug it in first but I was too excited so turned it on at work

Woot! My Opus arrived today as well, so I no longer need to have Kindle envy. Busy charging it now. Hope 3 hours fly by.

every book i search for, returns stuff that has nothing to do with the author or title I searched for ???
You searching from your computer or from the Kindle itself? Could be that you not linked to the US store? Searck for "Dean Koontz" and let me know what the results are...
Yip, sounds like you browsing the SA store instead of the US store.
Go to www.amazon.com/kindlebooks on your computer. Go to "Manage my Kindle" and check what country you are registered under. Change it to the United States if needed. You might need a VPN connection tm make it "stick" though.

thought i did that already... ill check again i might be confuzzled.
ok it seem to changed me to ZA store cause i logged into my US account with a ZA IP address and since then it wont let me switch back.
so i registered another account in the US. And re-registered my Kindle to it. Now on the PC I get a full list of Dean Koontz, on the Kindle though its still only searching the ZA store?? but the accounts match up - if i login to amazon with the account my kindle is registered too it opens the US shop.

Ok problem solved - had to do a "Restore Kindle to Factory Defaults"
Seems it remembers the shop country even if u change accounts. After a reset back to factory it re-synced and now lets me shop everything!

That's on the US store. On the SA store the the prices are $2 more. So if you are using a US account, how do you bypass the $1.99 download fee that is applicable on international downloads for US customers?

You're absolutely right - prices for the US store. Add $2 for the SA store.
If you using a US store (which I hope you are) then just add your SA credit card to your account (Your Account - Manage Payment Options) and make sure your billing address is an SA address. You then should not be charged the $1.99 international delivery fee
