AMD motherboards!!!!!!!!!

Settle for anything? Do you an average person has 6-7k for a monitor?

Sadly that is not the case so indeed we settle for these cheap lcd's which for me are insane.

I work in the print industry and nobody i know uses a 6k lcd, they all use the latest samsung offering.
 
Is there a place i can go to see the colours or see the monitor maybe?

Would like to see what an extra 4 k actually gives you
 
No idea who would carry it in stock. They're on-request orders from the likes of Frontosa.
Just check tftcentral for info and see what you think.
Apparently stock setup is horrible, so needs proper calibration just like the rest.

Look, colour on TN is gonna be good with calibration too. I want viewing angle, etc., and that comes in IPS/MVA/PVA stuff and will always cost more.
 
Tn panels can only support 16million colours. Ips panels support much more.

AMD vs. Intel is subjective, at best.
Though, it must be said, 775 is a dead-beat platform. Very unwise investment..

How is it a dead-beat platform and how can it be an unwise investment? Up until the 1156 socket and it's processors comes, then we can talk.

So I keep my 775 MB for three years, how is that dead beat? By the time I
'm ready to upgrade there will be a newer socket out with more advanced chipsets etc. This concept of buying the latest at great cost everythime does no make sense.

Perhaps I was misinterpreted.

What I meant by dead beat, was that if you consider investing into a machine for the long term - then why look at a system that will be replaced in 6 months?

I'm not harping on 775 platform - in fact I think it is fine. But considering its replacement is a mere 6 months away - it just doesn't seem.. worthwhile.

Just because it's being replaced doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

It's like this: BMW sells a very good M3. Very good. Now they announce that a new M3 is due on our shores in 6-8 months.

Why would someone purchase the current M3, knowing that the new will perform better AND have a better resale value?

(Trying to illustrate my explanation to those that refuse to think about what I noted previously).

Different strokes for different folk's!??

I think people should just buy what they feel is right for them, budget depending too. If you don't like Intel, buy AMD, and vice versa.

Who says the next M3 isn't gonna look like crap? Look what Subaru did to the STi... Lol just thought I'd squeeze that in.
 
Performance wise Intel and AMD are very close and in constant competition all the time - this is good.

But, if you look at ethics and corporate moral values intel is the most evil you can get. They have just been wrong so many times and stole so much innovation from other companies. They think because they invented x86 they own it, the sad thing is if it was up to intel x86 would have been murdered long ago.

Seriously, when deciding between intel and AMD you should not ask about performance but about supporting pure evil. Then again if you have telkom ADSL you are already half way there :p

On the topic of motherboards, I have only had Gigibyte (VIA KT266, KT600) and Epox (VIA KM266) fail me. Cheapies like Chaintech and Biostar (non T-Series) have been rock solid for years and offer exceptional bang for your buck.

Since I am small PC enthusiast my next board is an Asus with a pretty powerful onboard Radeon 4200 : http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=yCI8UenairUZJWET
 
Blah blah roux you have been singing this same tune for many years now, i think it is time to move on bud.

Anyways i am using my external dvd drive and got my 1tb drive installed and this mobo is pretty darn sweet for 550, plays games really well and the dual core is very fast in windows with an ssd
 
Dude, whatever... you still got a rock bottom board and it has nVidia onboard. My current Biostar cost less but with AMD780/SB710 chipset its a lot better and my new ASUS with Radeon 4200 is going to be even more awesome.
 
O dude my rock bottom board is working 100% with a 9800gx2, Who cares what onboard it comes with when you are not using onboard. My games run just as well as my p35 chipset mobo and the mobo cost 1k less.

Besides my rock bottom mobo with a 9800gx2 will take your 4200 780 and eat it for breakfast :D
