They were horrendously useless in my sister's case and the perps got off scot-free. But to be honest, I've been hijacked twice, broken into countless times, mugged etc. Crime is a definite problem, there is absolutely no doubting that, and having travelled a fair amount, it certainly is more prevalent in SA than most other countries I've been to and even lived in. The last incident was an attempted hijacking where prick pulled the trigger against my head and the gun jammed. They strolled to a petrol station with my stuff and calmly handed over my belongings to a taxi who sped off. Stopped a cop who then BS'd me stating that this wasn't his area and he couldn't radio it in because they work on different frequencies. So yes, crime is a major issue and I do not deny it. I just don't believe we can give up on trying to do something about it...
