I placed this here for you to see in hope that I can be given some clarity.

In regards to be able to delete threads, why is this a big bad thing?

People communicate on forums for information to connect with people and the like. Many times the wrong things are said angers are unleashed and it ends up being a bad show and everyone gets hyper focused.

It is the same type of thing we saw on twitter when popular people say the wrong thing. It goes into this echo-chamber and is pushed forward by those that only wish to do harm.

Why then not allow the original poster to delete the thread without being penalized by moderators? Why is it essential to keep a bad situation in the echo-chamber? How does it benefit anyone?

Twitter and even Facebook allow post to be edited and even deleted. It shouldn't be a big deal and it should be allowed because everyone is human and we will get things right at times and we will get things wrong at times. Now why create a situation where a person should be demonized permanently?

Why do harm in this way?

I will also put this in email form and send it. That way I know people will see it regardless if it gets deleted here.

the only reason why I edited my posts and placed the words deleted is because I had no ability to delete the thread. If I could delete the thread no one would have even noticed or cared because you get thousands of new threads every day.

But I leave it up to you to decide if you can perhaps allow people to not "break the rules" just to have peace of mind?

anyhow thank you for reading please be safe

enjoy

I understand what you are saying. It is just if "hell to pay" is a permanent thing it gets really hard to communicate. I mean the only reason I had to deal with fallout is because I couldn't delete the post. If I was able to delete it properly people wouldn't even have noticed. It was that insignificant. But now it is pushing me over the edge for no real reason other then feeding a soul to the trolls. I don't feel that is right. Just yesterday we lost another young life because of bullying. Things has to be allowed to be stopped as well. Why push everything to the absolute worst first before change happens?

See i have a real disability and not having an edit button is really putting me in a situation where i am shamed all the time. And for what reason? because i tried to stop a bad situation by deleting a post? I feel it is a heavy price to pay but I will pay it because people need a voice my community needs a voice because no one is even bothering to see why we need prepaid so badly and why it should be more cost effective. Just to write this bit took me several attempts and i hope it is better then the above.

I think people invest too much time and emotions in social media. Sometimes you just need to switch the router off and the pc/phone off and spend some time in nature or wherever.

Is the issue that you cant edit one of your own posts here on the forum?

Seems he or she says his life doesn't have an edit button so he must be allowed to delete his threads to compensate. At least I think it is, he or she does ramble a lot.
I thought it was something like this but gave OP the benefit of the doubt.
@AngryDog ask a moderator to delete your thread or report your own thread and ask for it to be deleted.

Dont commit suicide

Oh, and here I thought mods removed OP's editing or deleting rights. The email part has me a bit confusing as well.

"I will also put this in email form and send it."

I thought only those with the premium subscription packages can send emails.

The OP habitually creates threads and then burns them by removing all of his interactions within the thread so his ability to edit, not delete, posts was curtailed.

It's clear what he wants is to start threads and then delete them, in their entirety, with no regard to those that have taken the time to engage. But that's not how forums work.

Cool. So I did not have the wrong end of the stick.

No, his ability to edit posts was disabled in order to prevent situations like these from occurring.

Why would people want to get involved in threads that an OP wants to trash once they have answer they need or gets an answer they don't like?

Ah ok thanks for the explanation, wasn't aware of the OP post history

See,always 2 sides to a story

@AngryDog if you want to get emo and post and delete ramblings go to www.blogspot.com and start a blog,or use facebook and twitter as you've mentioned. What your endgame here is I honestly can't say
