Bad side effects from Pre-Workout

It has already been said really, but supplements are well... supplemental to your diet. If your diet is not fine for what you are trying to achieve, supplements will not work.

If you are on a tight budget, then you will have a harder time of it. But you need more of everything.

That lunch is okay-ish, but crackerbreads, light mayo, all those things sound like you are stuck with bad information. First off, fat is not the enemy. Second, if you are trying to "gain" weight, what are you doing eating a diet that you got off the back of a weight watchers flyer?

Potatoes and pasta are not expensive. For a healthy potato option. Do a jacket potato. Cut it open, drop some butter in (Not margarine for goodness sake) and add a filling that might excite you. We do Tuna mayo or coronation chicken usually. But you could grate some cheese or whatever.

Just get some more cheap calories into yourself, stop buying anything with a "light" label on it. Make sure you have enough protein in your body to facilitate muscle growth when training.

Also, no meal should ever be designed around cucumber. That thing is basically just vitamin water wrapped in a little roughage. It is a garnish at best, and this is coming from someone that loves cucumber.
Provitas and cucumber needs to have something else added to it. Cheese/ham/tuna/chicken just anything with some real macro nutrients in it.

Hey guys,

I started exercising again a few weeks ago.

Today I purchased Some Whey, Creatine and a Pre-workout (320mg Caffiene)

5 minutes after I started drinking one scoop that was mixed with 500ml water I had the following side effects for about 10 - 15 mins:

-Shortness of Breath
-Lungs felt tight and i struggled breathing for a while.
-My ears turned red and was super hot.
-a Stranger red rash appeared in the fold area of my inner fore arm but disappeared after a while.

Is this normal?

I am using Evox Alpha Pre-Surge Extreme.

Stop taking this crap.Eat heathy , eat smaller portions and regular exercise. Its common sense.

Random Hero, how are you financing yourself while you are out of work?

I literally only have 45k left in my life savings... So I am living off that.

Trying to not spend too much. Struggling to get interviews. Apply for over 50 jobs everyday.
Went for one interview today for some job in basic admin... (Thrown my pride away, gotta take what I can get)

ALSO:

I took half of the dose for the pre-workout before gym today and felt nothing...

I exercised very *** today.

Please listen carefully now and dont take this up the wrong way.

Stop
Buying
Supplements!!!!

You are using your life savings on things that are not nearly essential. Read that sentence again please and let it sink in.

If you really must still gym just start eating normal food and leave the supplements. I know its not what you want to here but its the truth. Supplements are just that, its SUPPLEMENTS your diet.

If you want to bulk get lots of eggs, milk, chicken, rice and oats...

Please work sparingly with the money you have left, ita not going to last forever.

I'd only take a pre-workout if i'm lethargic otherwise its quite pointless imo.

Like others said bulking is diet, eat more. At least 500+ calories on what you normally eat. i.e. the current amount that maintains your weight.

Your daily diet looks quite light on calories, since you are on a budget i suggest you add more cheap good carbs to your meals to increase your calorie intake. e.g. Brown bread (2 slices = 200 calories) with tuna and brown rice (1 cup= 200 calories) with your chicken

Cant even finish the chicken... Full already.
That does not look bad, perhaps add a carb such as 2 potatos. I know its hard but you will see the more you eat the easier it will become.

Tomorrow morning eat 150g (dry weight) oats, 6 eggs and a glass of milk or nesquick. About 2 hours after that 250g mince and 150g potato. For lunch about 1 cup of rice, 250g of chicken breast and a cup of green vegetables. Add a tablespoon of olive oil over the rice and a tablespoon of mayo.

Thats to give you an idea how much half a days food will look like...

You're going to bankrupt the guy! :D

The rash and tingles are from Beta Alanine in your preworkout. Some people like the feeling, I personally hate it, so I stick to preworkout that is higher in other compounds. I like to feel more energetic at the gym, than in a blind rashy rage.

I like Neurocore, 1MR , BSN N.O Explode. Gives me energy without the creeps.

Edit: Taking your PWO after 4pm might affect your sleep. I find that my brain can't switch off. I only use PWO in the mornings

Thank you so much for this, will try it out tomorrow.

i gotta watch my bank, hopefully I will find some employment soon.

Man it sucks to feel that i am *** good at what I do yet i am not even getting invites to interviews.

The other day i applied for a job that was below my professional level.

It was a job with FirstRand/Webank/FNB. Basically you only needed 1 years experience and a freakin Diploma.

Yet I receive the dreaded "we regret to inform you bla bla bla" email... Un-B.E.E.-lievable!

Its difficult but remember to stay positive.

Use pre-workout once you are back in the thing. You never use supplements to get you into the thing.

If you want to lean out then keep eating at your current incredibly large calorie deficit and you will keep wasting away, possibly to below 66kg.

If you want to put on any size at all then eat more. More carbs. Lots more.

This is what I'm currently eating TO GET LEANER. This is a 500 calorie deficit for me, I get leaner (less fat, unfatter, smaller) eating this volume of food. Stop wasting money on supplements (noun. a thing added to something else in order to complete or enhance it. when you don't have your diet sorted.

There is a lot of good advise here, but I don't think your understanding is 100% there. You can look lean and defined just by dieting. But you are going to be too lean. You are already far too light imo. I am 5ft11 and weigh more than you do, as a female. Now you can understand how light you are. You need to gain some muscle. To do that, you need to eat more. You are going to put on body fat, but that's par for the course when bulking up. Once you have gained some muscle mass, you will be able to diet down to get that "lean and defined" look. You can train all you want, you are not going to get any bigger before you get your diet right.

Correct. When I enter a new training/diet phase (bulking, cutting etc.) I lay out my basic daily diet framework in MFP and stick to more or less the exact same 6 meals every day on week days. I'll swap the carb and protein sources in meals 3, 4 and 6 each day, but the overall macros remain almost identical day to day. In other words I don't track and log every day as I'm essentially eating the same foods every day, just in different combos. As I progress further into the cut and need to make adjustments then I log again and carry on with the new macros for the next little while.

Weekends I still stick to overall cals and macros but am a bit more flexible, eating only 4-5 meals on weekends.

Currently pretty hungry every 2,5-3 hours. Also doing 3-4 fasted cardio sessions (30 mins, +- 300-320 cals) first thing in the morning per week. Will add more cardio as I need to. Goal is to be diced to my socks by December :D
