And, for your information, it was only in Australia that there were no whispers of other Australian players playing a part in the match fixing scandal...

Again as in other thread...just answering your statement that Steve was 'rewarded' for indiscretions...appears that you don't like facts to ruin your beliefs.

Tell me what 'whispers' outside of Australia were there about him being on the take.

And that's his biggest problem, the tag of dirty player... He is abrasive and physical and in your face, the true epitome of what a rugby player should be but refs watch him and blow him for anything resembling foul play. It's ludicrous.. Rugby's becoming a sport for nancies..

+1 Look at the old footage of the lions tours. Now that was real rugby.

Well the Botha's coming from a poor background could not afford a fancy gym for their son, however, Mr Botha's 4 X 4 was often seen being rolled down their street by their son... and Bakkies Botha was born...

:D

Yeah, whatever. You just believe that little myth. All Aussie players are called Tugger as it is the polite way of calling them all W@nkers!

ROFL :D Nice one Lance!

and he is ugly :D:p Not a big rugby friend, but all my friends around me keep moaning bout him, that he acts like an uncivilized human being on the field = monkey :D

Well I take it you and all your friends use the phrases:" Flaming!" "Ag shame doll" and "I love boys in skinny jeans".

Please try and not comment on rugby and I will not comment on Lavioni's summer collection for 2009 seeing as clearly we both know nothing about those respective things :p

Off topic but anyway...

We all know Hansie got to be the target and example that the ICB and all the other cricketing guys wanted to make.

Don't even try and tell me the aussies were not doing anything really bad.

Hansie never threw a game although once he asked gibbs to bat badly but gibbs score a couple of runs and SA won... Thus no fixing of the match. The other things he did were also done by a couple of other players like Warne and waugh.

WOW, spot on, indeed, one of my favourite collections. :D
If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest person alive. ;)

I wasnt commenting on rugby - I was commenting on a human, acting like a monkey trying to play rugby.

Bud I am not saying you and Schalk are lovey lovey, I am just saying maybe you know him personally?
I dont like him as a player, he is a dangerous player and is not always cited I M O .
That is all.

He's not a dirty player, he's a stoopid player.

Yes off topic but deserving a reply.

You guys are one eyed when it comes to the transgressions of your heroes.

Cronje accepted money ($140K) to throw the Nagpur match. He offerred Gibbs and Williams $15K each for <20 scored and >50 conceded resp.
The fact that Gibbs did not comply or Williams was injured does not diminish his culpability.
It is similar to recruiting a hitman who does not comply...

Cronje also accepted (and received) money and gifts for declaring and forfeiting innings against England to ensure an outcome...this is fact.

Stop casting this crook as a hero.

cheers

Lol, sounds like you and your mates should rather watch football (soccer) if the big rugged rugby players upset you.

Do you want Victor Matfield to run up in a suit and tie? Want bakkies to bring the tea and cucumber sandwiches?

Get real, its one of the last sports that have not been spoiled by over zealous refs and 1000000000 rules.

http://www.supersport.com/rugby/art...eadline=Boks not getting enough credit - Gold

The Springbok camp is feeling a sense of resentment that they have not received sufficient credit for their series win over the British and Irish Lions, according to assistant coach Gary Gold.
Asked if there was some resentment to the way the media have focussed on the Schalk Burger and Bakkies Botha citings and the circus atmosphere that has attended coach Peter de Villiers’ press conferences, Gold responded that it was “Fair comment”.
“We worked really hard to beat what we thought was a world class Lions team, and we don’t really feel that we have received enough credit for that,” said Gold.

I know he was quilty but letting the Aussie players get off with a slap on the wrist?

Over the years the Aussies have been like the favoured sons of the ICC.... and the rest of the world just had to say yes and amen.

Anyway this is a rugby thread and so it shall be once more :p

They are appealing Bakkies' 2 week ban. We will know tomorrow if they succeeded a couple of hours before the team is anounced.

I hope he is cleared.

Look at that video! Right after Bakkies cleared the ruck the lions nr 2 clears it in the same way, why was he not cited?!

It is only because Jones was injured that Bakkies has been cited

Why would the aussies get nailed as badly as hansie? They never threw matches they just gave reports about the pitch and conditions, far less an offense than trying to decide the out-come of games.

I can't see how Bakkies banning can be anything but over turned. Mods!!! Unban Bakkies please:D

But seriously, as I said in a number of posts already we simply to physical for these chumps. It's like men versus boys. I've never expected our forwards to be so dominant in this series...
