Not having a good night... Thought i`d create a thread where BF2 veterans/fast learners can share their tips and secrets with the rest of us.

Stick with your team mates. Don't go running alone. I only do that to flank the enemy and get them by surprise.

Also don't go running in like a headless chicken :p

If playing as support/assault drop your ammo/health as often as possible for easy points!

Mines in high traffic areas are basically bonus kills.

Try stick to one central flag in conquest... And defend like crazy.

Push q every time you ads it not only spots enemies, which u get points for, but it also let's you know if the tree or debris you are looking at is actually an enemy.

I need to start laying mines.... so many times I've driven up to a flag and boom! Dead.

And it's usually like 100 for disabling 100 for destroying the vehicle, 100 for each occupant... Not bad

When you playing maps where you must 'hold' points (flags etc) - guys, work as a team, don't all rush off in different directions - yes, kills count but you get more points defending flags and holding, reviving, healing etc.

I had a game the other night where we were losing hopelessly! It was a joke, I almost just quit the game.
But I told everyone to come together, hold a point / line and move from there in teams.
I have no idea why they started to listen but we turned that game around so fast - people changed from being snipers to assault etc.
Pointless being a damn sniper on the Metro MAP!!

Medics, engineers (for ammo) are so needed.

Agree with the teamwork stuff. Stick with your squad, try make a balanced squad. I.e. if the rest of the squad is assault then go support so you can keep them stocked up on ammo.

If you die or even change class, your AT mines will stay there until destroyed, or you plant more.

Supply packs only contain a limited number of supplies, so drop them regularly if you're amongst a lot of people.

Supply packs can renew your grenades and gadgets too.

Grenades can damage armoured jeeps (Humvees and that truck thing).

If you're defending an area and see someone guarding a particular route, then cover another unguarded route that is open to attack, or you'll both likely get shot in the back.

C4/RPG can be used to blow holes in buildings/walls for new routes to objectives.

C4 doesn't have to be placed on vehicles to damage them, you can put it next to them and it will still do a lot of damage (since you can't throw it far at all).

You can hold in shift to steady your aim while sniping.

You can shoot the pilot/passengers in the Littlebird/Z-11/Transport helicopters with any gun, you don't need heavy weapons.

The laser pointer and tactical light are ON by default when you spawn. Don't blind your teammates with them.

Use stationary TOW missile launchers against tanks. They don't always give you a hit marker when you hit a target, but they are powerful and easy to aim, so you're probably hitting.

Use your gadets, they are useful.

Engineers for ammo huh?

Is there a particular area of the game u not having a good time with? A particular game type? Is it just that your overall points arnt good, or are u struggling to kill people/getting killed alot?

Medics are not invincible. Rambo'ing in to revive someone will cause both to get shot. Get the person that killed your teamie first before reviving.

This. It is super annoying getting blinded my a teammate. But also on that note, and the Rambo'ing medics - if you do get revived, you have your pistol equipped. So if someone revives you before taking out your killer, there is value in having a pistol with a laser sight or tactical light so you immediately blind the guy that shot you.

Be smart - don't run in like rambo COD style, try flank the enemy and take them from behind.

Although we are probably all trying to play a certain kit to unlock certain items, choose the right kit and weapons for the map or situation. Nothing sucks more than having a sub-machine gun and trying to shoot someone at long range.

Team up in squads with mates or clan - makes a massive difference.

Don't be shy to use vehicles, only way to learn is to try and fail a few times, jets take some getting used to.

Set graphics to low/medium even if you have a monster of a computer, less shadows = easier to see and more kills.

If you're not engineer spot tanks and hide. Definitely don't charge that tank.

Copying this from a thread I started last night on another forum...guess we had the same thoughts. It was also after I had experienced some really bad games, lol, very weird coincidence

1) Teamwork wins a game. So play in a squad and stick with your squad always aiming for a common objective.
2) Try balance you squad. I rate a squad with 2 engineers and then an Assault Medic and a Support guy.
3) Squad Leader to issues commands and squad must obey. Press Q while looking at an MCOM/Flag to issue a context sensitive command ie Capture/Defend A .
4) Use Vehicles and the mounted /stationary weapons to your advantage
5) Always have an Engineer in a tank. ( preferably both players, but at least the secondary gunner should be Engi) This is needed for repairs and also additional firepower against tanks ( he can jump out and fire off a rocket)
6) Spot ENEMIES non stop ( press Q while looking at enemy vehicle /infantry)
7) Spot them again
8 ) Corners are obvious hiding places. Obvious camp spot is obvious.
9) Use missiles, then guns when he uses flares.
10) Be aware of where your teammates are....Friendly fire is not.
11) Mines stay in game even after you are dead. Mines = free kills later in a round Also place them in pairs to ensure you get a kill.
12) PICK UP teamies at the spawn. Dont Rush off with an empty vehicle to get the first objective. YOU WILL DIE. I know its called Rush, but this is not what they meant. Having more teammates with you increases the odds one of them gets shot before you.
