Becoming Healthy Again

I just ordered a 3 day trial with a company called Serv'd Fresh. They make your meals for you, calorie controlled and delivered to your.

The full package is a bit expensive. Just under R4k a month but it's all your meals for the day, 5 days a week which you can top off with 2 fruits as snacks and extra veg to fill.

I'm going to taste it and see if it's worth it. The option I'd consider is lunch and dinner which is R2k a month 5 days a week...or maybe just go for the dinner option since the canteen at work is quite good. Never having to cook will be a pleasure if their food is decent.

I don't think the 3 meals a day option is worth it but lunch and dinner might be. I mean, how difficult is to eat all bran in the morning and save yourself some money. The only positive that breakfast has is that it's always different. Omelette one day, granola and yoghurt the next, smoothie following that etc.

3 days worth below and it can be supplemented with maximum of 2 fruits and free veg.

You absolutely right, rather eat something healthy at home or pack it and eat it at work, its half the price just for lunch and dinner, so yeah I would also leave out the breakfast option.

Looks good dude. Get chowing let us know how they taste good value for money, hope that fish is not drenched in oil and stuff like that...

Enjoy

Seems odd that cutting out breakfast would decrease the amount by half.

Imagine this ... no dishes to wash during the week for a whole month.

Agreed. They give you breakfast, a snack which is quite small and a dessert. All very small and not worth the extra 2k a month.

In my opinion, if you get 2 meals a day from them, have a healthy breakfast and healthy snacks you should be good.

I did the servd fresh thing about 2 years back for 3 months. Took the full option ie all meals included. Found the meals slightly bland, but I did manage to lose 10kg in that time.

Had to stop coz they stopped delivering to Pretoria. I see that they have started delivering to my area again so might give them a try again.

Also check out fitchef.co.za. Same concept but they have specific paleo options as well.

Maybe the blandness is because they're keeping the sodium levels down.

I'll let you all know what's it's like on Monday when I start the trial.

10kg in 3 months is wow. Did you combine that with exercise or just good eating.

Just the meal plan. No exercise at all.

That's quite amazing. I won't do the meal plan but I'll create those snack items myself according to their menu.

Breakfast - wasn't hungry
Lunch - two slices of chicken ham
Dinner - 3 pork sausages, mayo, 2 pork chops
Snack - chicken mayo

so you're geting healthy again by eating pork sausages. and chicken ham? wtf is that a typo? or was the title of this thread supposed to be "becoming thin again". because eating processed **** like you are is not the way to becoming healthy. I suppose you can aim to be thin and unhealthy, lots of people do it all the time... but lol chicken ham. is that like that weird durkey stuff

If healthy requires quite a bit of weight loss in a short time then I dont see a problem.
Add in lots of green veggies and its all good.

I must admit, the meal reports from Lino are not looking very healthy at all. Basically an 80% protein, 10% carb, 10% fat diet by the looks of it.

Just bear in mind I am only doing it this harshly in the beginning. I am planning to balance it out more

Breakfast - 2 pork sausages with 1 pork chop
Lunch - full cream Greek yogurt
Dinner - 3 beef kebabs with 1 pork chop

That sounds like a lot of fat. I'm not understanding this diet. Why don't you have fruit salad for breakfast with some full cream yoghurt, lunch could be a chicken salad and dinner two chicken breast and veg with healthy snacks throughout.

All this port definitely is not good.
