Big RSAWeb FTTH outage

Another reason why anyone who values their internet access should have an LTE backup in addition to their fibre connection. I've got both fibre and LTE running into my Mikrotik router and setup to failover automaticallly on the rare occasion that there is an outage. It's so seamless that I often only know that I've switched over to my LTE connection when I get a notification to topup my LTE data.

RSA Web is the worst. I've been with them for just over a year and they constantly have issues, blaming it on the FNO. Today's issue proves them wrong. I'm saying "good bye" soon.

Rare occasion but still need to top-up data?
Ja well no fine.

But it wasn't only them? Or was it?

I only keep it regularly topped up with a small 1GB data bundle that gets automatically loaded on the 1st of every month. If the failover to LTE occurs then that 1GB gets quickly burnt through and I get an automated notification from Afrihost that I need to topup. Depending on the severity of the fibre outage I will then topup with a bigger bundle. But I always make sure I have at least 1GB on standby.
