I must buy a new car, and I thing less than R400 000. Must be suv and have cruise. Brezza petrol 1,5 or Duster 1,5 diesel. Jolion is also in the range , but I do travel on gravel roads 10% of my trips. Advice please. Second hand will also be fine. I drive cars for a long time, don't sell them after 3 years.

Duster, most SUVs can do gravel roads but after a year most of them would have pieces of plastics hanging loose underneath and rattles all over.

The Duster is not exciting but it was built exactly for your application.

I wouldn't go for the Jolion mainly because I think unless you're going for the top spec, it's not worth it and it has terrible fuel economy. Wouldn't know about the other cars though.

Duster if money not an issue. On a budget Brezzza is fine.

I would also suggest a Corolla Cross seeing that I have one and I love it! A thing to consider about the Brezza is that there is apparently a facelift due in the next couple of months.

There must be a reason why Duster fans are so loyal. Not a Renault fan, but I have not heard much bad about the Duster - my brother has two of them and loves both.

Yoh, difficult choice. I like both, myself. Don't own one, though. But I'll also choose between one of these two or and 2nd hand CR-V, if I feel the need to sell my old hatchbacks for an cross over SUV.

How did you calculate R400k.

It is normally calculated on how much you can pay p.m on the installment unless is it a cash deal?

If on installment, depending on the interest rate and length of time, you can afford a more expensive car or a less expensive car:

I have a duster and its excellent for what it is. Very underrated cars. I dont really think you can compare the 2. I would say the duster is an actual SUV, although a small one where the Brezza appears to be a smallish hatchback with bigger wheels and taller suspension. I suspect the boot space in a Brezza will be half that of a duster.

The resale on the Suzuki / Toyota will always be better.
My advise would be the Brezza / Urban Cruiser

He did say he like keeping his cars for longer, so it probably won't be a big factor since the Duster resale is also not what Renault cars used to be, even if he sells after whatever years the Duster would probably be still in a much better condition compared to the softer SUVs, who in all honesty will not cope well doing what SUVs were supposedly built for over prolonged period of time.
