Buffalo couriers

I use to order non stop from Banggood and can vouch that it works very well, Buffalo Logistics is super awesome
I stopped ordering last month coz SARS is now hot on my heels for an Importers Code
i have ordered 11 times this year
You are only allowed 2 or 3 times a year up to R20k

So Im hanging low until next financial year

Haha make hay while the sun shines!

Have you ever ordered a cellphone though?

3. Does Banggood change the price of the invoice for customs etc?
I think they do allow you to, but don't. It could cost you a R500 fine. I have had SARS asked for a proof of payment for the goods. If the invoice, declared amount and payment don't tie up, SARS will fine you. Even if the sender puts the wrong amount on the manifest. It is your responsibility.

Sites like SunSky allow you to created your own invoice and manipulate the amounts. So you can up the shipping and lower the item cost. They also allow you to set the amount that is declared. But this only works if you can make 2 payments for the order. That way you can submit a proof of payment to match the manipulated invoice and manifest.

Which option is Buffalo in the pic ?

Does “ Tax Free “ refer to customs duties ?
I always use the tax free option. It seems like this option does not trigger the max 3 inputs a year SARS rule, as I have imported more than 3 per year for the last 2 years, without any SARS issues to date.

Which other sites use Buffalo as a courier? Is there a way to use them for AliExpress?

These:
https://www.gearbest.com/ calls it Priority Line
https://www.banggood.com/ calls it South Africa Direct Mail & South Africa Direct Mail (Tax Free)
https://www.cesdeals.com/ calls it Direct Line Delivery
https://www.geekbuying.com/ calls it South Africa Priority Line*

*Have not tested this personally

Keep in mind that Aliexpress is a fully fledged marketplace like ebay and bidorbuy, and the shipping options are dependent on the seller. There have been reports of some sellers on Aliexpress using buffalo, but I would guess that these are few and far between.

Alternatively you can order the stuff you want on Aliexpress, on S³ - Shop Ship Shake, and it will land via buffalo, but look out for those fees. They are somewhat confusing.

You can ask the seller to use a different deliver option if not listed. Not sure if they will use Buffalo.

Was your last order that triggered SARS, successfully delivered ? ie. do you get a "last warning" ?

Do you still need to provide a Importers Code to SARS for that last order ?

i had 4 orders all arriving on the same day
The first one was triggered, and then the rest also
But all my items were delivered a few days later
I did 11 orders this year, of which about half are of this financial year.
Im hanging low until April next year, or whenever the new financial year starts again

Just go get an importer's code. I would if I didn't have to drive 100km to get to my nearest SARS office to find that they are closed.
