Buffalo couriers

It WORKED! I'm more surprised than anyone. I spent R750 as a test purchase, my parcel seemed to clear customs 2 weeks ago then no more progress. I used the banggood chat feature and was asked to wait until the delivery period had expired. I rolled my eyes and figured that wasn't gonna happen...who's is buffalo courier in SA?? But today I got a whatsapp, and the parcel arrived. 24 days, and well ahead of the promised 44 days. So felt I had to come here and comment.

I have found them very good and done a number of orders. Usually 2-3 weeks for delivery, especially if you purchase with the tax free shipping option.

Yup arrived late on Friday afternoon, my expected delivery date was the 28th. I contacted Buffalo on the 29th via their whatsapp support and they gave me the tracking number and contact number for the local fastway. They told me that they hardly service my area and only come here once a week. I just waited and it got delivered to my work on the 30th, exactly one month after ordering

Is the tax free option worth it for small orders? Just take this for example a pack of 10 ESP8266 costs R380+- tax free shipping is R96 as compared to R2 for the regular direct mail. Wouldnt the customs clearance be cheaper than R94 for a R380 order? Im not to clued up about customs costs

It will generally be in the "bonded store" section of the couriers main hub from my understanding. I very much doubt the all the parcels go through a specific "Customs warehouse".

Glad your stuff came. I have no idea about the customs fees for the ESP's. VAT alone is R62 (15% of R380 x 1.1), not sure if there's an additional charge about that for those chips.
 
Are you guys still getting orders delivered? I've got packages that have been in the Jhb depot for nearly 2 weeks. They don't respond to their official WhatsApp number and they don't answer their phone.

That's not good news. My previous packages were pretty quick (about two weeks) and I have another on the way which I only ordered this past weekend. Hopefully they'll have their issues sorted soon!
 
I got a slow package today, it was shipped around 23 July from China and in SA around the 25th, in Durban on the 02 August, the last mile courier (who it has been with since the 03rd) delivered today.

I generally have a higher value order and the tax free shipping amount stays roughly the same. My last order was 1400 and tax free shipping was still 95 odd. So definitely worked out. Main reason I say it is better is that your order clears through customs much quicker. Well that's at least been my experience.

Did you do tax free shipping? Just curious as orders I've had delayed like that were when I didn't use tax free. Tax free seems to clear straight away

I did use the tax free one and it cleared customs in 2 days. Its been stuck at Buffalo from what I can see and they don't answer any comms. My orders in the past were 2-3 weeks but these seem to be awol.

Good point. Ill do a test order one of the days and use normal shipping just to compare the times and customs.

Contact Buffalo on their whatsapp channel. Mine was stuck there for a 9 days with no movement after I contacted them via whatsapp they replied via email and told me my order was queued for dispatch, and within a few hours it left their warehouse. Could be coincidence also

Did you ever get your goods? And did you get any feedback if you contacted them again?

My second package is now in limbo for the past week
 
Yip terrible service from Buffalo Logistics my parcel cleared Monday and no movement since then :mad:

Yep, they all came via a fastway courier yesterday/wednesday.
Seems like they dont do their own delivery at least in my area anymore and it took twice as long as im used to. Hope they get things back on track again as they were one of the last decent delivery methods from china at a decent price.
