Buffalo couriers

Seems like mine is in the same shipment. Expected delivery date is 10 September, I was hoping it would be here earlier.

So far there are 4 of us waiting for this one shipment.

I think there is probably one person that hasn't paid their tax and that is holding up everyone else

Thanks, that is rather disappointing. So the delivery times is a bit of luck of the draw.

Yup arrived late on Friday afternoon, my expected delivery date was the 28th. I contacted Buffalo on the 29th via their whatsapp support and they gave me the tracking number and contact number for the local fastway. They told me that they hardly service my area and only come here once a week. I just waited and it got delivered to my work on the 30th, exactly one month after ordering

Is the tax free option worth it for small orders? Just take this for example a pack of 10 ESP8266 costs R380+- tax free shipping is R96 as compared to R2 for the regular direct mail. Wouldnt the customs clearance be cheaper than R94 for a R380 order? Im not to clued up about customs costs

Do you have a link to that item? I'm looking for 10-20.

There is also this option if you dont need the smaller form factor

That is really weird. I'm guessing you've logged an issue on the whatsapp helpline?

Ive tried. No response for the past week. I tried their website help option earlier today.

Ah, same one I have, thought there might be another, 2x 5 pieces is a few cents cheaper

I noticed that if you add multiple items to your order, the cost of tax-free shipping doesn't increase. So whether you order R400 or R1000 of items, the shipping cost is identical. Which indicates to me that they are charging an average cost, and not actual cost.

So I'd wager that for small orders under +- R700 it will work out cheaper if sent non-tax-free.

It goes up slightly at a point, but I've never paid more than R105 - I usually wait till I have +- R1500 of items and then do the tax free shipping.

They also have some sort of cut off if you order too much, it won't go through.

I actually mailed their COO yesterday and still waiting on a reply, WA query sent earlier today and also waiting for a reply.

Can you PM me the whatsapp number? I think I have a wrong number. None of the messages I ever sent got a blue tick
Go to their website, bottom right corner is a Help popup with instructions how to log a ticket via Whatsapp.

Seems I can't PM you. The option is not there.
Oh yes I forgot about that, I changed my settings so only people I follow can PM me. I once posted I had a spare takealot voucher and the new account noobs started spamming me

Thanks, that is what I followed and the same number I have. But I never get read notifications, I only get automatically generated emails with my message. Once they replied via email, they took less than 12 hours to reply that time. Strange that I havent gotten a response from them after 2 whatsapp messages

Their reply via WA:
Good day, your parcel has arrived in the country and is being processed before being sent to our warehouse in Johannesburg for distribution. Once the parcel is scanned "inbound Manifest to Hub" it has arrived at our warehouse and will be arranged for delivery or collection. Please note, to ensure Covid-19 regulation compliance, collection has to be arranged 24 hrs in advance in order for the warehouse to ensure the parcel is ready for collection without delays.

Seems like a generic response and we already know that.

Maybe we need to send them all our orders in 1 mail and ask them to split the consignment from ours (that have cleared customs) from those who are still pending customs clearance.

But I would expect them to give a generic answer again saying we have to wait for the whole shipment to clear and it's out of their hands.

Update from Buffalo: Please refer to my posting #149 think I was spot on.

Good day, although your parcel has cleared through customs, the Customs Border Control Unit have stopped this consignment for a routine physical inspection. A consignment is made up of bags, on average between 14 – 25 bags, which may consist of about 800 – 1000 smaller parcels and your parcel is one of them. Our clearing agents are in the process of submitting the documents required in order to get the consignment released and we will advise as soon as we have any further feedback. Unfortunately the inspection can take ±10 - 15 days to complete, so delivery of your parcel will be delayed until we receive the release from Customs. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
