I doubt there is going to be any banning over something like this . . . unless trolling becomes problematic in which case a barring from the sub-forum becomes a more appealing prospect.

Luckily I am not trolling but discussing the endless possibilities of mobile processing and comparing platforms against each other. Seems to generate a good buzz also, I like that.

Come to think of it - I am also not making demands of other peoples heads either - I think that is a bit off topic and perhaps unwanted commentary. Not the kind of buzz I like.

so what is your point then? you asked whether the iPhone can play Quake 1, and it was said it can play Q3, with motion support, and MP Support... what the problem is?:confused:

Im sure if he was a troll he would not have the knowledge he has clearly shown about the more technical issues.

Also I find these threads very informative.... I am ashamed to admit that I will prob. get the next gen Iphone if it improves on the 3G model :o

I did get the answer I wanted - and - I must admit that the implementation of Q3A on the iPhone is pretty clever. So well done to those who developed it.

The only other thing that is of interest to me is the amount of work they had to put into to it. Porting to Symbian is (in most cases) fairly simple. With the Q3A implementation on the iPhone I think a lot more was needed. Then again if you look at the end result I would say it was worth it.

:D Thought you would never see me give praise to software that runs on the iphone ;) think again.

Mobile platforms are too different from one another to make a version that will run on all. But, if you look at something like ScummVM for example you will see they were able to make an iPhone version very quickly since they already had Symbian (UIQ) and other mobile builds of the software.

Nothing to be ashamed of - if the price is right and it has all the features (mms and working bluetooth along with proper GPS software) then I guess it would be a matter of which phone appeals more to you personally. If that is the iPhone then go for it.

After all, one must make your own decisions when it comes to choosing what phone you want. After reading reviews and other peoples comments on it in the end you weigh up all the pros and cons it is still a personal decision.

As I said - after the pros and cons it is still a personal decision and I cannot agree with apple's view points or attitude so I will never own anything with a fruit on it. I also try to avoid anything america where possible (macdonals excluded :cool:)

Dude, you may mean well but you are hopelessly and I do mean hopelessly uninformed and/or ignorant and/or a little thick ;)
...you do understand that your Windows machine represents probably the most prolific American monopoly on the planet right?
 
It's very simple - Rouxenator can't afford a contract with the iPhone.

So he went for a butt-ugly N82 instead & now he's got to live with his mistake. It must be painful if it's something you need to use every day...just makes it more painful.

Live with it. I should get my iPhone shortly. :)
