Cancelling Rain

The Real problem of Rain is greed, they want to supply the whole of South Africa with this false connection. Granted in some area's you get the speed but in most area's are oversold and are the reason why most of my customers wish they never blew all that money on a company that's tendencies are lower than Telkom Standards. Super feel sorry about everyone that complains on here.

it all falls on deaf ears I am afraid to say. Make as much as you can in a short period and screw the rest. But hey at least it's making people more aware who they signup with in future

So I bought the sim card paid R479 for the 24-hour bundle - canceled it a day later (That didn't register apparently) so I canceled it 2 weeks later will I get billed again in the following month?

You see, I understand the concept of paying for the "Data I used" However, I did pay for it so why would I need to pay again?
 
My biggest regret is that I didn't stumble upon this thread before subscribing, I have cancelled already but still had to pay for that month.

if i do cancel sim does it end immediately and i lose the R479 i paid for the month ? no refund based on pro rata usage ?

might be unlimited but can’t call it 4G that is for sure, false advertising..
 
I cancelled midway through last month, and still paid end of the month. I was on the 24/7 package. There is a lot of confusion with the cancellation process with rain.

Hi I have been trying to cancel my account for over a week, no one has responded or anything, I am very happy with the product but unfortunately I am movie to a area that does not have rain coverage. It seems to be that you can not cancel your subscription and they say clearly that it is only a month to month. by that i understand that you can cancel it any time. well I have to and no one is responding to this matter

Were you provided with an answer as to if you cancel immediately (say today as an example) will you be billed the full R479 for the month of August, or will you be billed pro rata (i.e. five days usage from 1 August to 5 August) ? ? ?

If I choose to cancel my service, do I have to get a new sim in future, rica and the whole shebang if I want to activate it again?

I got the sim a week or so ago and tested it a few days.
My speed is really atrocious to say the least. Almost full signal, without any joy.
Even attempted a basic vpn test and it still remains the same.

My Telkom LTE on the same router performs perfectly. No issues at all.

So that said. I'm not going to battle to get it working. I would rather cancel now and activate again in future whenever the network performs as expected.

Switched on router for 1st time in August, had a decent speeds 6-8 for short while then back down to sub 1-2..

Invoice for 07/27 was upfront so should be for a month.. but then received a 0 rated invoice for july with only usage shown from 07/27-07/31..

If they going to bill me for August at end of August.. I would be highly upset.. and wouldn't that be against CPA etc.. as the upfront should be for a Month of Usage Upfront.. where I barely used 6/31 days.. and cancelling due to poor performance, not meeting expectations or claims..

EDIT.. got a call from Rain Representative..

Switched Router on.. MyBB IOS App.. Speedtest: Ping: 112 ms Download: 0.76 Mbps Upload: 0 Mbps

They will be running some tests..

If one chooses cancel sim option it would be cancelled end of that month ie. if I cancel Today it will end 31 August

Pro Rata will be applied from 27 Jul 2020, 17:27 till 31 July and Full Month of August deducted from initial credit loaded..

rain_mobile Representative will look into getting it cancelled immediately and apply Pro rata Till now, after Tests etc.

@rain_mobile maybe clarify or post formal process if clients do which to cancel immediately..
