So you're saying all the data price comparisons MyBB does, showing VC to be price competitive are wrong? In fact, on many bundles VC leads.
the excessive OOB is proof alone of this, but give me a second and I'll expand on this.
And, with all due respect, your comment about Vodacom following the market on promotions being predatory is just plain stupid.
Nope that's exactly what it is... Stifling competition through sheer financial might -- the very definition of predatory pricing. Viewed in isolation it might be easily dismissed as crude marketing; but that's just it, it's not!
As a customer I find it utter reprehensible that Vodacom can drop data prices for an extended period when faced with competition, and then subsequently argue in the press that lower data costs are not sustainable and/or profitable; now couple that with OOB and it's very apparent.
Care to dispute the above contradiction?
...and as promised here's an expanded version:
How can "unprofitable" promotion pricing be sustained for a lengthy term + if it is indeed unprofitable then that fact alone makes this predatory pricing (i.e. pricing below cost to stifle competition -- their cash coffers being unable to withstand a lengthy financial loss).
On the other side of the contradiction, is that for all VC's media denials; it could very well be marginally profitable, and the subsequent hikes at the cease of the promotion should be seen as nothing less than profit mongering.
Either way its a perfect example of VC's big f..k you to the consumers and to competitive fair play.
