Cell C launches 3GB/year data offering

This offering hits the spot. I've got a 300Mb pm contract from VC that seldom got used for the first 24 of its 36mths as it was a much needed backup solution when it actually got used. Then my wife used it at work and averaged 180Mb per month for 6mths. Just got her the 12x12Gb CellC sim. This will be perfect for my spare modem in my laptop bag as I just need a connection to check my gmail and ssh in an emergency.

The fact that its also available as a virtual voucher makes it even better for consumers like my 11yr old daughter who is now only discovering the internet/wap on her phone.

lol.. this will hurt other cell co's as this is essentially a self managed rollover for a yr (256MB/month which can carry to the next). Guess all the IM people will be moving over

update: just called cell c service desk. according to the consultant you cannot add this service to an existing prepaid number, you will have to purchase a special sim card for it. However, the new sim card will be able to make/receive calls, sms, etc. (for all intents and purposes itl be a prepaid sim).

I suppose number porting may just work to get around the issue, but come now cell c, sweeten the honeypot a bit more pretty please?

I'm 5 pages late but i like it .that's more than enough time to use what you payed for.

*HIGHER CAP ACCOUNTS PLEASE! R9999 FOR A 30GB/MONTH +30GB OFF PEAK FOR A YEAR +LTE/HSPA+ modem* ...zZZ

I'm going to get a galaxy tab from MTN on anytime 100 for R229. I'm porting vodascum number to MTN and shall this anytime 100 sim on my cell. Then get this cell c package for my galaxy tab. Sweet now I'm covered. Between office and home Wifi has me covered, but when I'm out and about I shall be surfing without worry.

I would drop my under performing ADSL in a heart beat for this, or even better would be 30GB/month and between midnight and morning and usage is at 5:1. This would allow us to manage it ourselves and would move the heavy traffic to early morning dead time.

CMON Lars you can do it!!!

Where is the Cell C rep??

I will buy this if one can set monthly max as its then ideal for my daughter.. But if she can use 3GB all at once it won't work for me!!

PS The 2GB wooosh option is crap & now I wish I had waited to get ADSL! Its so bad I don't even use 500MB per month due to modem overheating & I imagine everyone else on the network!!!

Nice one Cell-C

This is perfect for me, I have a Cell C sim that I occasionally use to test signal for my customers (I already had a 2 year data contract with vodacom before the Cell C specials:cry:)

Well done on giving the market products that are reasonably priced for their needs!

Now if I buy the bundle, do I qualify for the Audi competition?

nice for an IPAD2 or other Tablet that runs on 900 MHz.

Wait...wait....tell me more! What about us poor IPAD1 users? Can we use this too?

Any other boffin out there able to tell me if the coverage is sufficient for game parks, and other out of town places? This is where I am most likely to use it.

You can use their internet on gprs/edge too.

Cell-C have a roaming agreement on Vodacom's EDGE network (at no extra cost to you), so you can use it where ever Cell-C or Vodacom have coverage.

On edge or GPRS but definitely not 3G, pretty sure that goes for all networks. Game reserves aren't exactly downtown Sandton so would be unprofitable to cover.

Finally, a fair offering. I always thought that 1-2 month expiry times were bull****. I mean you pay for 2gb, why should it expire, they get their money. I guess it would have been fair if they refunded you the unused portion of the data?

Anyways, if this offer can be used as a bolt on (even if it does require a sim swap) its a great deal. And the two price fixing retards should feel ashamed that their business is run so badly that these offers are all "unsustainable".

btw, to the earlier poster, I think MTN will have a competing offer out first this time (months from now), vodacom got to be first last time didn't they?

Hello Cell C my friend.

I am using my own 2100 and 850Mhz USB modem.

With this new offer of yours (R399 for 3GB for 365 days), this is my real genuine 'ta ta' to the suckers who provide me voicecalls on contract, who although have great speed on the 2100mhz spectrum, still charge R2.00 per meg oob.

With your other equally innovative and fairly priced offer of R50 for 100mb (including 100 sms'es and voice call airtime too - if I am not mistaken; I heard it on the radio), how can I resist.

Now we really know where I will be munching my bundles from.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

*whispering* CELL C! CELL C! CELL C!

P.S. Let the 42mbps roll (hoping it covers 2100Mhz too).
