Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

There are so many areas around Cape Town northern suburbs that I have perfectly full signal, perfect voice calls, but extremely limited data throughput.

Opening Google times out and opening Twitter simply loads the text of my latest tweets but no images.

This is not only in Cape Town, we are experiencing the same issues in Fourways/Bryanston/Santon. The difference here is that its not only the Internet... call quality has just been going from really not bad to really really bad. Yesterday I searched around looking for some response to the call/reception issues that Cell C has been experiencing in the past few months in the surrounding areas and to no avail, the last response from Cell C with regards to issues was that the previous CEO blamed Vodacom. Thats it.

They still did not call me back with regards to either fixing the Network and Reception here nor about the upgrade... and I can put money on who will phone first...

Recently ported over to Telkom Mobile. Couldn't take the constant disconnects on calls. Hell, I even drive past their new HQ on the N1 and it still drops.

Extremely sad.

I've spent 4 years with Cell C on my current contract. I've been exceedingly pro-Cell C however I am regrettably now considering moving my service.

The quality has not been improving after the gradual and continued drop.

Yeah me to I don't even take calls on the N1. This is just after Rivonia towards them by Becclue.

And more places. 0 signal in and around hyperama in constantia. Terrible Internet in randburg.

Was just at the Baxter tonight. Perfect speed and fast service with Cell C.

Drive back to Tygervalley area and dead slow again. - All around Tygervalley area, form Starlite Diner to the Engen above Tygervalley.

Every time I drive through the Cape Town city centre next to the CTICC the class cut out. Poor reception and data connectivity in Sea Point.

Will be moving to another network when my contract expires in Jan.

Just a follow up from my side, Cell C called me today to collect information for the Technician to contact me with regards to the reception issue in Bryanston. At least they called before the upgrade center phoned. So now I'm waiting for the update center to call me an they probably don't have stock of the Galaxy Note 4 ....

Geez,

I thought I was the only one...
The past week I have extremely slow internet access.

Not getting any higher than 0.5mbps...

I just message Cell_C today to check what's going on... I thought it was just me.

I am in Durban and everywhere I go it is just bad...
It could've been for longer and I just haven't noticed until recently as I mostly use wifi...

 Very upsetting...

I even purchased an additional data bundle because I thought I might have been throttled or something...

Just got a phone call again from Cell C network technician and they will com asses my issues tomorrow at the office... Well Done Cell C, now we only need stock of the Galaxy Note 4 to eventually reach the stores...

Hi Guys, So im in sales, and having an operational Cell phone is my bread and butter.

Problem is, my cell reception is very poor or off line mors of the times.
Is there any way of having Cell C to make an effort to upgrade their coverage around this aria, as im sure that other clients in my arai is having the same issue...

Frankly paying R4000 early cancellation fee on my contract is ludicrous when ist the service providers failure to provide sed service! What can a man do?

The cell c data connection in Birch Acres(between Thembisa and Kempton Park) is virtually non-existent...when their data connection is working, the download speeds never get above 0.1mbps and most of the time the speeds are around 0.09mbps(forget about upload speed)...opening a Facebook mobile page, on a phone using operamini or Ucbrowser, takes around 20seconds to load(excluding images) on a good day...Whatsapp messages can take hours to show up...downloads of above 1.5MB always fail...each day I do a network search at least 5 times cause of loss of network coverage...connecting my laptop to the internet with cell c doesn't work at all...all pages timeout, even google... The only time their data works ok is after midnight...download speed get up to around 0.9mbps, but then at those times some of us are sleeping...
Only been here(Birch Acres) 6 weeks and am already fed up with cell c...been calling their call center every week, they always promise that someone will get back to me and to date I haven't received a single call from them...unless if they called during the times I had no network coverage...
Here is a pic of a speedtest I did yesterday,on my phone. for cell c...the speedtest took almost 30minutes to complete.

Cell C Major signal issues

 Don't even know what to do anymore i changed over 2 years ago from vodacom but i am never able to get signal when i need it, i have to carry a prepaid Vodacom simcard with me at all times in case of urgent contact needs.

This is all i ever see on my phone (this is taken without my vodacom simcard in, funny i know)
How can a service provider not cover major industrial hubs?
the sad thing is i almost moved 200 contracts over to cellc because of their pricing structures, i can honestly say that i would have probably lost my job is my company were in the same position as i am in now.

I always see my 3G connection symbol .... until i need to use 3G then suddenly 3G is nowhere to be found i literally have to swap my sim card to vodacom if i need to make urgent calls (Sometimes cellc decides to use vodacom's network for me anyways but thats not often)

How do people live like this? is there a way to get out of my contract?
I have a ex-director of PG Glass whose contract was on cellc and he shows me on his bill how many times cellc pays out the connection costs for dropped calls or missed connections 157 rand per month of dropped calls thats 157 dropped calls??? what the hell is going on.

I have the opposite, my Vodacom voice service has gone to hell, only Cell C voice works.

I don't have any data service, Vodacom has dropped from 4G to 2G, and the others have never worked here.

This is in Joburg near the Wanderers Cricket Ground.

I had terrible voice service from Cell C so I moved back to Vodacom. In general Vodacom has better coverage but there are also far too many areas in Joburg where I get "No Service" on my Vodacom sim where I would just get ****ty reception from Cell C.

All our network operators are utter ****.

Please PM me your contact details and location sensbeard, We'll escalate this for investigating. *DM*
