Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

Unrestricted APN giving issues

Location: Solheim Germiston
Issue Started: 5 October
Device: Huawei e1820
Contract: pre-paid
I cannot connect to the Cell C network with my APN set to unrestricted. As soon as I change back to the Internet APN everything works great. I have been added to the Unrestricted APN trial users list, just to confirm. This problem occurs whether I connect the USB stick to my PC or whether I run it though my Netgear router.

Could not connect all day yesterday (keeps reconnecting) as well as this morning.
I seem to be online now, with sporadic disconnects about every minute or so

Tried to load Cell C speedtest, but after about 15 refreshes I gave up
Connecter tells me 2MB of traffic throughput in the 15min I've been online trying to browse

Please do something!!

I’ve been experiencing constant disconnects every Thursday of this month so far (October). It might sound odd, but I kid you not – every Thursday so far I try to connect and I either get no throughput whatsoever, or there’s just disconnects – after 5-10 seconds; can’t go online for the entire day.

Now once would be a fluke; twice, and I’m starting to get a bit suspicious; but three times in a month, and all on a Thursday? No man, there’s something going on here. It’s not my PC seeing as I’ve also tried my laptop and the same thing happens there too. So I reckon it must be an issue with the network. I see other people have similar problems here too, so I’m not alone in this, at least.

This hasn’t happened so frequently or routinely since I got the modem and started using it back in early May this year.

My max download speed seems to have been lowered to 384kbps, which used to be around 3-5Mbps. When connected, the connection type in the lower left corner of the connection manager used to display HSPA+, but now it only displays WCDMA.

No settings have been changed and I've even tried it on my laptop. When the problem started, it was around the same time SEACOM went down so I thought maybe it was due to that, but the problem is still there.

The connection has become slower than cancer, especially in the evenings. It has gotten worse since the device upgrade. Seems to do better on the weekends but generally I can't even connect to speedtest. Device is not even reaching speeds of 50kbps.
Used to be whoosh but now seems more like poof!

Advice?

Modem model: Huawei E1752
Contract: Pre-paid
RAT (2G/3G/HSPA+): HSPA at about 750kbps
RSSI: -61dBm

I'm lucky if I get up to speeds of 750kbps. It's been going on for about 2 weeks. I mostly come online at night between 7pm and 11pm and over weekends between 7am and noon.

I tried running a speedtest, but the page wouldn't load due to the slow speeds I was experiencing. I was lucky to get this posted.

I've tried to get Cell C's attention, but nothing's working.

This is not the first time I've had this issue. Earlier this year, around April, I had the exact same problem and somehow it sorted itself out. Don't know if it was Cell C, or if it was just the winds that changed. But I need help. I paid a lot of money for my monthly data and how am I supposed to use it all before it expires when the internet is slow as molasses?

Update to last night's post. Still not great, but a vast improvement. Too bad it won't last. It seems I have good speeds at 6am, but not at 11pm at night.
