Cell C software disables "Show window contents while dragging" Visual Effect.

Every single time I run the app it disables this option. :mad:
How can I stop it from doing so? I do not enjoy having to re-enable this option every time the software runs.

My OS is win7 x86 7600

Which compatibility mode though? I have already tried the vista option.

I have the same issue, at first it bothered me, but I got used to it.

If you find a permanent solution let the rest of us know.

I posted a solution a longtime ago, but I cannot find the thread.

The problem is caused by Huawei's OEM software, i.e. Mobile Partner, which is also used by Cell C for their dashboard.

Google "DragFullWindows.EXE" and download the file (lots of sources available) for free. It's only 16KB.

Save it somewhere on you computer and create a shortcut for it.

Place the shortcut on the task bar.

I have mine right next to the CellC icon. It's become a habit to click on it while the dashboard is loading.

Hope this helps you?

Cell C Drag Full Windows Source Code Fix

yip thanks, I feared as much.. I was considering coding it myself.

I found your original post:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/archive/index.php/t-174126.html

UPDATE:

If anyone is looking for the actual source code to undo the damage when the app starts, then here it is:

C#
Code:
// declares
[DllImport("user32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto)]
private static extern Int32 SystemParametersInfo(UInt32 uiAction, UInt32 uiParam, String pvParam, UInt32 fWinIni);

private const uint SPI_SETDRAGFULLWINDOWS = 0x0025;
private const uint SPIF_UPDATEINIFILE = 0x01;

Usage:
Code:
SystemParametersInfo(SPI_SETDRAGFULLWINDOWS, 1, null, SPIF_UPDATEINIFILE);

UPDATE 2:

I compiled an exe, over 10 times smaller that the other one, that does exactly the above (not in C# though).
It can be downloaded here: http://xera.co.za/files/DragFullWindows.zip (431 bytes)

Code:
zip size: 431 bytes
exe size: 1536 bytes (1.50 KB)
MD5 hash of exe:
81B39965C00AA1569F6B6506F9F3D037

Lolz, I have never liked their software... think they should stick to their hardware, and let somebody else do the software.

I've used various versions of Mobile Partner on and off for years and never noticed this. Just checked now, and it does it on Windows XP SP3 as well. It does restore "Show window contents while dragging" on exit though.

This problem has reared its ugly head again with the latest release of CellC's firmware/interface for the E1820. ( Huawei-update2013_v1 )

I have been onto them for months to fix it, but to no avail. The standard "our people are working on the problem" reply!

Now I have to make use of this little app: windowsxp.mvps.org/dragfullwindows.exe to correct it everytime I open the CellC interface. :mad:

Looks like Hauwei have only known about it since March 2009 - http://forum.huawei.com/jive4/thread.jspa?threadID=326680
Hauwei's response "I think this 'issue' will not bring you much trouble when you use it surf the Internet".:wtf:

What a dumb response. Equivalent of talking to dog poop. If i were you i would have explained the problem and then told them and their company to jump off a cliff and then get a real ISP like OpenWeb (I use Mweb but since my connection is never consistent i will have to, based on user "feedback", recommend OpenWeb.
