Census 2022 - Problem with self registration

The last time that form was a PITA to complete. Can't they just pretend that we live in the 21st century and make this schit online already...
 
Last time they asked questions they didnt need answers to. "Do you have a fridge?" GTFO you have no need to know what is inside my house. A census is a count of the people in the house, happy to answer that question. Refuse to tell you my income (go ask SARS) or what appliances I have.

Tried again now with no luck on the email OTP. Outlook as provider.

Edit: worked over SMS OTP, when choosing how to contact me select SMS instead of email
 
Just received an sms with a reference number - will check later to see if it helps me to complete my registration

Edit:

Registration confirmed - finally.

Now to see if I receive the link to complete the actual census online.

Census 2022 is in February. To make it easier the online method is encouraged. You MUST register your household via the link before the 31st of January to utilize the online option:
These are the 3 options:
*online*
Complete the survey yourself online. You will receive a reference number upon completion that will be collected by a StatsSA Fieldworker at your home during February.
*telephonically*
Answer the survey over the phone.
*face-to-face*
A StatsSA Fieldworker comes to your home and asks the survey questions in person.

I thought online meant nobody bothers you - why tf do they have to ' collect your reference number ' ?

You are correct with what a Census should ask. However in South Africa we conduct a Census of housing and the population, hence the lengthy questionnaire with all the additional questions.
 
I get to the map, select my roof, and nothing. No way to progress to the next screen...
 
Yeah they can go eat a knob hey, pay me for my marketing data if you want it, not like it is valuable for their planning etc as they are unable to plan an abortion.
 
Registered. Did not know it is Census time. Thanks for the heads up. No issue myside. Maybe the person who is charge of the system also lurks here and is to embarrassed to admit it. But after reading your post he/she/attack helicopter fixed it.:)
