Hey guys

Trying out Rain offpeak uncapped but my old Moto G 4G has a weak hotspot and signal only covers a single room.

I wanna buy another device <=R1000 to use as a hotspot.

Dual sim would be even better as I can maybe use IFTTT or Tasker to switch to another sim during peak time.

Your not going to find a phone that's going to do that, let alone under 1k

Won't be any better, it also has limited range and won't go much further than a room and at R500 it's not going to be lte.
Sure it will go further than a room unless you have really thick walls (live in an old place etc.).

Both LTE.

Is there a possible solution for the automation with a mifi or LTE router?

I did a quick test with my mum's Moto G4 Play and my dads J1 Ace and maintained a connection from one side of the house to the other, so if I place the mifi etc in the middle of the house it should be okay

Other than to turn it on or off, not really, not with a cheap one. You would need something like a Mikrotik to enable such configs.

Really depends on the device, I would not rely on it unless you can test it first, the B315 suggested above would be the better approach. A mifi is not designed for range or signal strength so while a connection may be kept at the edge of its range the speed could make it unusable.

A friend had that problem with a R1500 dual band dlink router, 2 rooms away and his 100mb turned into a 30mb,contextually still a very usable speed, but again mifi is not meant for such things.

I could easily get 100mb on my B315, I was lucky to get 25mb on the mifi.

then I will probably need 2 off whichever if I use another LTE deal for peak time
