Cheaper 3G Prices - Rep?

We were all happy to embrace them when they were the only option other than telkom, and when they swapped out modems free of charge for the new one's, but now they are the devil incarnate? Consumers can be really fickle!!
Maybe this happened in your world? Vodacom are and have been raping us for years. In this industry you either adapt or die. Their network has become a joke, dropped calls, crappy signal, crappy service etc, maybe they should stop spending money on sponsorships and re branding and actually try fix the netwok

I love the gullible Vodacon fanbois.

It's a contract, how much will you be charged when your data is finished? What's the OOB cost? R2 per mb? I am seeing it already...:p ;) :D ROFL

Trust me Terra, on Topup there is NO OOB!

Plus, with vodacom the 2GB can carry over, with CellC it doesn't.

yeah, now it's R150 for 4GB of data

1) it's better than CellC because they have better coverage, and is more stable
2) The data can carry over to the next month
3) it's 1/2 the price of CellC if you use up the Nightshift
4) there is no OOB if you take the TopUp deal.

Good one Vodacom. I have a gut feeling we will see more shocks from the Red shortly.

Lol ... nice graph (though it assumes everyone can take advantage of 'night owl' data, which will never be the case - but what really should hit home here is MTN and 8ta), wish they'd put it on the front page of MyBB and see what MTN and Telkom have to say!

Maybe Vodacom should just reduce their network quality and service levels to that of cell c and with it their pricing, then would you be happy?

Reduce network quality even more? lol! My 3G speeds have been reduced to slower than EDGE already, they don't need to reduce anything, IT'S ALREADY REDUCED!

Better Comparison

Nice, but it's not a good comparison.

Allow me to prove my point.

How does vodacom define 1GB of data? Is it 1000MB to them, or 1024MB?

Cell C: --- 1GB = 1024MB
Vodacom: 1GB = 1000MB

Also, you are comparing vodacom's 4GB with the other's 2GB's. That is not accurate. It would be more accurate to compare Cell C's 5GB with vodacom's 4GB.

Cell C ------- 5GB (5120MB) --- R167 pm --- 3.3c per MB
Vodacom --- 4GB (4000MB) --- R149 pm --- 3.7c per MB

Not so much difference anymore, hey?

Also, Cell C you only have to get for 12 months, and not 24. I didn't see a mention of that in your comparison.

Not where I stay. It used to be usable, but not anymore! And never, ever stable!
2) The data can carry over to the next month
3) it's 1/2 the price of CellC if you use up the Nightshift
Really? Half of what price exactly.

Cell C ------- 5GB (5120MB) --- R167 pm --- 3.3c per MB
Vodacom --- 4GB (4000MB) --- R149 pm --- 3.7c per MB

Wrong.

Very wrong.

You need to divide the data into the price to get R/MB. Not the other way around. That would give you MB's/Rand ;)

Here you go:

Cell C ---------- 5GB ---- R299 --- 5.8c/MB (you forgot to use the modem included, contract price ;))
Vodacom ----- 4GB ---- R149 --- 3.6c/MB

Not so much difference anymore, hey?
Wrong again.

Actually, CC is 61% more expensive than VC in this case.

thanks,

was a lil :wtf: reading that previous post & then read yours. Definately a better data comparison.

Also VC's contract is also over 12 if I remember correctly?

you can't compare those....

the cell c bundle including modem is R299

& the vc bundle @ R149 includes the modem over a 12month period...
