If a proper question is asked, Im more than happy to give an answer. :)

I am clever thank you very much. Thats why i can use google and the vodacom website to get all the info i need...

ps. To start a revolution, you need to know the basics first.

if you want to help with the revolution, do what the rest of us are doing and jump ship as soon as possible.

complaining isn't going to convince fatcats, vote with your wallet and take away their catfood, and see them start to complain. (eg future mybb article "Vodacom Network loses 45000 3G users")

The hardest thing in the world is to convince a "clever" person that they are wrong ;)

Giving me the vodacom web site address helps nothing and google doesnt bring up anything but more people like me complaining!
WHO IS THE PERSON I NEED TO TALK TO THATS WHAT I WANT TO KNOW?
Who do i actually write a petition too..or rather, who is going to listen to our complaints..nobody thats who! Vodacom are vampires.
Is MTN also still so expensive?

err, convince me im wrong with what? No debate going on here little one. lol

Do some research on Vodacom, or think in the likes of government as well...

Why is it that people find it easier to post here than to do their own research, to read up on policies etc to actually know something about what they want to fight against. (Which never happens because they realise its too much effort)

And yes, Vodacom and MTN are the same, both are the same, after the consumers' money and not really phased about dropping data prices.

Thanks for moving my post to this.
So what it actually comes down to is lawsuits hey.
Bye bye vodacom another one bites the dust

So, WTF will Vodacom reduce HSDPA prices for 5GB and up?

Surely it is about freeking time?

vodacom have no plans on the table currently, their rep confirmed this.

sorry mate.

I too will be jumping ship on Vodacom's resistance to lower prices come Jan.

AFAIK SAT3 wholesale prices were dropped when Seacom came on board. Are they not passing savings on to us, or do they need to siphon profits off 3G to make up for interconnect losses?

Last but certainly not least, VC 3G used to be good = expensive but always reliable connection. Lately it's been rubbish!

Please can you post here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=204553&page=7 a bit more regarding your problem? Also, what steps have you taken to log the fault with Vodacom and have you sent the ref number/s on to VD on this forum?

Price Vs. Cap?

A simple question that I can't seem to find a decent answer to is why 3G has such a high price/Meg, or in some cases price/Gig?

This has become apparent in the last few months with ADSL per/Gig prices
being reduced substantially, Screamer & DigiChilli to mention a few and
other wireless options, putting speed & reliability aside, per/Meg prices
being substantially cheaper than 3G.
Another factor that has not seemingly effected 3G is that of the new fiber
cables entering SA, such as SEACOM, etc.

Now that we are moving into 2010 is there any possibility of prices/Meg being reduced, VODACOM??

Putting this in perspective understanding that increasing ones internet
connection speed requires that your ISP to spend allot of money on new
technologies and faster infrastructure. But increase cap or reducing the price/Meg does not involve new technologies so why are ISP like Vodacom not following in suite like other ISP?

Because Vodacom is the new Scum - just a bunch of fat cats

Price Reductions - WHEN?

It is now nearly 2 years with the same rates, even though ADSL data rates reduced by more than 55% over this period. When will we see a reduction in rates or are the Vodacom/MTN cartel just to comfortable?

We need to see rates reducing to less than 10c/MB if you buy more than a Gig at a time. Out of bundle rates of no more than 50c/MB would also be a good start.

Come on Vodacom, be the brave one and move first!

I agree. I currently have ADSL with an Afrihost account and they are absolutely brilliant but I am moving to a new place in March where there are no phone lines, so I need something else. I will be happy to pay R500 for 5 gig 3G but a R1000 is too much. Hopefully we will get cheaper 3G prices soon, but then again I think VC and MTN have their eyes set on the World Cup, where they hope to cash in big time with all the tourists who will want to have internet access.

I have been waiting patiently for Vodacom to announce new rates, but now it's not funny anymore.

And the subscriber base is still growing...

Why should the rates reduce - make hay while ...?
