Cheaper 3G Prices - Rep?

If I could buy a 10GB vodacom data bundle for R 500, I would drop my ADSL and Telkom line fees like a hot potato, and use Vodacom as my sole data provider. :D

Yeah, it's not like we are asking uncapped 21mb connections. They can keep me at my current speed (on an awesome day its 3.2mb but normally just 1.5mb odd), and give me 10Gb at R 500.00. Or limit me to 1.8Mb and give me 20Gb at R 500.00.

Seriously, anything under R100 per GB and I would shut-up for a year.

After that year I would much appreciate it seeing it nearer R50-75 per GB.

But its just not going to happen by the looks of it.

One last thing Vodacom: My previous promise still holds, you have around 7 days left. I PROMISE you that EVERY single one of the 116 clients on my list WILL convert to another provider should I suggest they do so.
Your clock is ticking.

I Said the Rep(V3D Dr Data whatever) can't affect their(Vodacon's) pricing.. I didn't say he can't help you with your technical issues

LOL ._.

This Fat Cat oligopoly won't lower their prices for anybody until there is competition.
Competition.
Competition.

Besides your clearly out of date and uninformed opinion on what the Vodacom Rep does and has done in the past, your post belittled the work done by those persons.

The fact is that Vodacom3G did very much have hand in getting Vodacom to lower prices in the past and while VodacomData does not necessarily sit at the same level v3g did, he does still have comms up to the powers that be. So while I share your view that competition is needed your comments regarding reps past and present are incorrect.

I agree. VodacomData has always helped me in the past via forum posts and PMs. He has been able to answer all my questions and solve all my problems. Another plus? He responds very quickly. I wish every company in SA had people of such caliber working for them who in turn help their customers!

I always received only the best service from the VC reps on the forum.

While Understandably i cannot directly affect the pricing of data bundles / tariffs , i will always do my best to make sure that your voices are heard

Goodie!

I received confirmation this morning that NeoTel are finalizing their network in Nelspruit. Services will go live in June or July.

So then, Vodacom...
You have 30-60 days before I leave you for good.
30-60 days to achieve the following 3 points.

1: Proper coverage and signal (in Nelspruit).
2: Pricing of around R50-R100 per gig (bigger bundles closing in on that R50 mark).
3: Cooperation with the banks so that the R500 per month maximum airtime recharge from internet banking can be finally fixed. (Banks blame Voda and Voda blame banks, sort your shi## out!).

I should also point out that I will be making it a personal interest of mine to convert any and all clients in my database off of your networks at the time NeoTel goes live here.

I hope for your part that you do the right thing, or you can expect a massive exodus of high-usage users away from your overpriced, underperforming, gimmick-driven drivel of a network.

Right, time is up Voda.

I would say it's been fun or something like that; Truth be told, it was the worst internet experience of my life.

Hope you all crash and burn in your sham of a company.

The guys are looking into the fact that the 3Gig and bigger bundles are not given extra data.

Why would competition result in lower prices? In this country more than one supplier seldom result in competition - it results in collusion.

I wouldn't be so critical. For me, I think Vodacom Data has served me well, and there are lots of benefits -

1. I get faster speeds on V3G than with my ADSL
2. It is portable, pop a sim in my modem or iPad, and I have internet wherever I go
3. There are no lousy Telkom line rental fee's to pay, or ISP ADSL fee's to pay

However, having said that - the only issue I have with Vodacom is the pricing of their packages.
I have said it before, I would dump ADSL, if Vodacom would be more competitive with their
packages, particularly in the 5GB - 10 GB bundle range.

vodacon is greed personified ;D
or something like that ..

R100 a gig. Come on! It won't kill your network now that more and more sites are being hooked up to your fibre network. Come on! R100 a gig!!!

According to the so called rumours the price will drop after the world cup. Which is coming to a close soon.

yeah I know "friends" online who have accessed loopholes in their scummy network and downloaded terrabytes of data.. All at max speeds, so I doubt they have any real backhall issues there..

1gig at 100rand is ****ing expensive but could make it a little bit closer to an alternative to ADSL, whereas at the moment they are only being used because some people didn't have access to adsl or didn't understand the fixed line technology.
