Cheaper 3G Prices - Rep?

It seems that the official news will remain the same - Vodacon (and MTN) will continue to work the South African through the ears and do nothing to the data prices.

Just think if they reduced the data prices by at least 61% (like a previous time) - they could have saved a lot of money on the advertisements on showing SA that Vodacon is red.

RED because they are embarrassed about screwing the public for so long!

Bla Bla Bla! What is this? Vodacom Whinging month all because of a re-brand?

We were all happy to embrace them when they were the only option other than telkom, and when they swapped out modems free of charge for the new one's, but now they are the devil incarnate? Consumers can be really fickle!!

Maybe Vodacom should just reduce their network quality and service levels to that of cell c and with it their pricing, then would you be happy?

No need to get personal with Network bashing here.

Lol .. says the Vodashop owner/employee (how about some 'full disclosure' there next time). Funny to see the Vodacon vested interests on this forum running scared of the Cell C prices, trying to spread propaganda and FUD about the Cell C network. And funny how distorted your view of history is, since I've been around since Vodacom's launch and folks have been begrudgingly complaining about their pricing since day one. They were even being investigated for price-fixing right from the start.

Say what you want, I'm a very happy Cell C user, their network performance is very decent, and there is no way Vodacom can justify per-GB pricing almost five times Vodacom's per-GB rates. Cell C's pricing is in line with international 3G norms. Vodacom's is at least triple international norms.

Bottom line, stop ripping us off, we're not stupid, stop trying to take us for fools. We'll keep whinging until you stop ripping us off, no matter how many vested-interest feathers it ruffles. It's that simple.

They should be .. it's their money these companies are getting rich on.

My biggest gripe with them is they didn't adjust bandwidth prices accordingly when Seacom changed the market. Why not? Because they're greedy and have no competition so they can effectively get away with it. Thing is I'm not just whinging, I voted with my wallet so I'm spending my R1500/m elsewhere now. Have you?

all voda probably will do is just add some "value-added" bundles and stuff to their contracts without dropping any prices, as usual.

Not going to hold my breath.

Dude, considering the size of your font used, you are sitting way too far from your display.

Maybe he's using one of these?

It not just a paint job from blue to red ... I assure you ... Effective 1 May 2011 onwards ... You won't be dissapointed

Funniest thread of the day....thanks for the laughs guys....:D

Lol!!!

So perhaps the pressure started forcing Vodacon to announce early? I just wished for a whole sale reduction not just a special between 1 May 2011 and 31 July 2011.

We can however expect the real competitors namely MTN and 8TA to reduce so that the cartel of mobile operators all charge the same again. At least the new Consumer Protection Act makes it easy to cancel. Just keep the advertisements where you can buy a modem on prepaid for R399 including data and then you can cancel after 31 July 2011 if a better deal come around, and only pay at most R399 to get out of your contract!
