Chromecasts suddenly stopped working

I have 2x Google Chromecast 3rd Gen that I purchased from Takealot about 2 years ago (parrelel imports). We use them at my office to cast onto our TV screens for presentations.

The first one suddenly stopped connecting to my WiFi last week, and today, the second one has done the same. I have tried resetting them and reconnecting them to the WiFi via the Google Home app, but they both tell me they cannot connect to my WiFi network.

No settings have been changed on my router, and if it was a router issue, I assume both would have stopped working at the same time. My thoughts are maybe that the one got a software update last week, and the second one got the update today. I am not too sure what to do from here.

Does anyone have any insights as to what could be wrong? I am happy to replace them, but my worry is that any new models will have the same issue.

Perhaps remove any static entries you have on the router that pertain to the two Chromecast devices. MAC or static IP type thing.
