Greenstone Hill seems to have gotten better. I only tested yesterday afternoon and early this morning, but I hope it stays this way.
No disconnects, decent throughput (~5mbps/~2mbps @ ~75ms) and no need to dis and reconnect.

I've been getting frequent disconnects on my Nokia N900. At the end of last year I could go online and it would stay connected for hours. Since the beginning of this year, it disconnects frequently.
My N900 has just been online for 14 hours, manually disconnected as I need the SIM fr something else.

My Cell C black modem has been connected for almost 13 hours now. Speeds still good and latency excellent too. Quite a miracle because that modem normally disconnects after 30 -60 min.

Ok so I have had my 5gig bundle and black stick for little over two months now. I am sorry to say Cell C is going from bad to worse.

At the beginning it was an aparent tower fault and it would be fixed at the end of Dec 2010. It was worse at the end of Dec than it was at the beginning.

I tried using EDGE, which was slower, but dependable while they sort out their stuff. This has now become crippled as well and also suffers disconnects.

I have troubleshooted my way through different power settings, different towers, drivers, external powered USB hubs and many other options.

The internet usage on Cell C has become close to UNUSABLE! Both on the fabled HSPA+ 4Grades of ***** they sell us and on the EDGE of fury where the rest of us are left standing, not receiving what we were offered: WHOOOSH!

I am sorry, but I DEMAND better service delivery than this. I paid for a service they are now FAILING to deliver. If Cell C is not able to deliver, they should retract the offering.

This is UNACCEPTABLE and POOR from Cell C. People are NOT getting what they PAID for. People are not getting a response from Cell C as to what may be the problem or what an estimated time is to resolution. This is by FAR my most HORRIBLE experience, not only with a wireless supplier, but with ANY retailer in my LIFE!

I have been very patient, very understanding and tried everything in my power to correct possible errors from my side. Cell C has done nothing to improve my experience, in fact it has become worse over time.

I am now very angry and displeased with this absolutely terrible service, lack of communication and lack of a properly functioning network!

Well, if you read the T's&C's of the piece of paper you signed when you bought your speedstick, you basically have zero recourse

N900 disconnected a few times last night between 20:00 and 21:00.
Around midnight I noticed it had switched over to 2.5G, I think this is the second time I have ever seen this and both times have been in the last week.

Since Saturday my black Speedstick has been more stable, but plugged in directly into the PC. Via the TP-Link Router it is very unstable and disconnects a lot. The Sitecom router has the same problem. However i purchased a small mobile router from Trendnet that works fine. Range is not that great, but at least it works!

Hi Ronald,

Please sort this out.

I am also one of the thousands of "woosh wishers" experiencing constant drops in my line.

I live in Vredekloof, Brackenfell, Cape Town.

Sometimes I will have some woosh for 5-10 minutes then suddenly I either have a dropped line or I am connected via edge.

I was also wondering if you could reimburse me for the amount of data I have to start downloading again after I have been forced to reconnect. Often the download starts from the beginning again.

Please help us solve our issues and give what us what we were lead to believe we were paying for or give us our money back so we can forget that we ever had to be a part of what is starting to feel like a deceitful advertising campaign you have used to get us to part with our money.

It's tough not to feel as if we have been ripped off.

I ony got mine Sunday. Experiencing something similar.

Mine jumps over to EDGE, stays connected for a bit, then disconnected. Few minutes later light flashes Blue to show i've picked up 3G again.

I'm located in Harbour Island, Gordon's Bay.

Signal Strength, -93dBm.

Cell C changes this month

Hi
I thought it was just me untill I found this thread today. I had disconnects every 2 minutes at times, happened mostly in the mornings, evenings it improved tenfold.

Problem started probably in March, in January whe I got it - it was definately not a problem.

I'm happy to say I haven't had a disconnect this morning - I'm now connected for 30min and counting - thankfully Cell C seems to be getting somewhere.

I still don't like my Ping success - here' I'm pinging the cell c dns server - I'm getting too many timeouts:
