Constant disconnects

Midrand having terrible disconnects today. Unable to stay connected for more than 10 minutes. What is up???

In the last month things improved and I hardly had any disconnects, in the last few days it has returned.
I have noticed that my mobile phone gets disconnected much more often than my modem with an external antenna.

Same with me last night. Usually your App MDMA would connect me right back up. But not last night. I disconnected and stayed disconnected.

Its been almost a month since i've bought this. I am yet to experience the Whoosh! feeling.

Here too. Disconnects have slowly been increasing over the last few weeks. I now average about 4 per day.

Take note:
Could everyone that is having an issue please pm me the tower id, rssi, area and rough time of disconnections/slow speeds. Going to try compile a full list of everyone having this issue in CT and submit it to cell c. I will be doing this till this sunday so should be enough time for everyone to pm.

I think this is going to be a long list :rolleyes:

CellC and its irritating disconnecting

can someone pls explain to me why cellc disconnects constantly?

im in the dark red zone- pta montana- i have 4-5bars hpsa but it just disconnects in the most vital time,and my keyboard and mouse is paying the price! :mad:

my vodacom will stay on 99% of the time, 1% when I disconnect, so wtf CellC

got nothing here in PE. Connects but cant open any webpages or irc.

Same story in Bloemfontein. Constant disconnects, or just plain no connection at all. If there is a connection, it is HORRIBLY slow. This applies not just to data but voice also. A few weeks ago I was unable to get hold of a Cell C subscriber between 08h00 and about 21h30.

Currently, SpeedTest to a Cape Town server: Ping = 104; download = 0.71; upload 0.23

SpeedTest to New York server: Ping = 401; download = 0.22; upload = 0.16

It seemed to good to be true, but now the WOOOOOSSSHHHHH is gone.....

No disconnects for me in the last 12 hours but speeds are slow. Getting maybe 300 kbit/sec opening webpages.

I cant even ping. Nothing. Just connects and does nothing.
Not even informing us of anything.
If they upgrading here in PE and killing net for everyone in area then they surely dont know wtf they doing.

Arghhhhh - Disconnects!

This seems to be a major problem with Cell C. It seems that around once a month now I have a problem with constant disconnects. If you phone them to complain they give you some BS about something on your computer which could be causing the problem, but of course it never is. after a week or so it clears up "by itself". They have some major issues with their network that is causing this problem sporadically all over the country.

It's ridiculous. The service is unusable this way. I am being disconnected every 15 seconds now. The new CPA is designed to protect consumers in cases like this. Cell C is obviously not levelling with u,s their cusomers. They MUST know what the problem is with their towers or other infrastructure that is periodically causing this problem. They should at the very least tell us what they are doing to correct the situation, and also compenstae people who are paying for an unusable service. In terms of the CPA this is unacceptable. They must provide the service advertised - a stable and reasonably fast 3G internet service. If they cannot provide this consistently they must not sell this service to customers.

In the event that Cell C does not start remedying the situation does anyone know what the procedure is to make a formal complaint in terms of the CPA? If all of us who experience the disconnects (probably 10's of 1000's) make a formal complaint it is better than just one or two.

2 days down, with little or no connectivity. Just been able to connect now with something that seems stable.
And no word from Cell C on the issue :(

I'm adding my voice to those having disconnect problems. We found ourselves being disconnected every 5 minutes or so (connect, retrieve a page, read the page, connect, retrieve another page, read the page, etc.) - as you all know, extremely irritating. Not the first time either, although it seems to be mostly a weekend issue.

thought i was alone in P.E having disconnected thrice within a minute, at one point thought i got virus on my laptop:D. I used to woooooosh and now i am pusssshing my luck to stay connected:sick:

Cell_C i move around alot and this has happened at diff towers at diff times including at home.

people thats having disconnection problems it is weird but its true, its happened to me and iv see it. if there is any electrical fluctuation you having then it will disconnect ur device for a ms. to me it happens when my fridge(plugged into the same plug as my pc) auto switches ON/OFF and when trying to plug something into the other plugs while the CellC modem is connected.

I have been having issues with my speedstick for a while now (have only been able to get an EDGE connection and it keeps dropping) and finally got Cell C to respond to my numerous queries on twitter. the Service Agent that contacted me proceeded to tell me that i am no longer in an area that is covered by a 3G tower and thus the reason why i have only been able to get an EDGE Connection.

this is really P-ing me off as i made sure i was in an area that had 3G coverage and now suddenly i dont?! this is really unacceptable.....
