Upstream issue for about 20mins in JHB, is back to normal. Waiting on feedback from carrier.

Loving the service. It's great. No more lag. No more TS issue. Things are stable and fast and line doesn't drop. Thinking about upgrading to the 50/50. Do i need it ? No :D

What's the price difference? 25/25>50/50?

I'm on 100/50, SUPER happy with it!! R999 all in on Fibrehoods network, great value considering the performance and volumes I'm currently moving!!

50/50 is R999
25/25 is R799

Wish they offered a high download and slow upload I mean who needs 25 up or even more?

Yeah, in Norwood our 100Mbps option is 100/50 while the others are 20/20 and 50/50. Our pricing is excellent...

I wouldn't necessarily say that the Vuma pricing is that bad. Yes slightly more expensive, but also more options. It's only a R200 difference on the 100mb option for double the upload speed.

It's just more expensive. Moving down a tier on CI to 50/50 will save me R100
If i move to CW I'll save R250 or something.

So areas are treated differently since the Vumatel acquisition (old fibrehoods vs Vumatel aerial). Sadly all fibrehoods areas pricing will fall in line by the end of the year. This will then open the network up to higher uploads etc.

I have absolutely no problem paying R200 more for double the upload speed, but I understand that not everyone will feel the same.

Just feel Fibrehoods model made more sense price wise. Service with CI is amazing.

Don't really see the need for more than 5 mb upload anyway for home use.
We want fast download not upload

People who back things up.
People who use cloud services to sync documents and such.
People who run Plex servers.
Large families.

I also went for 100/100. There are 5 of us using this link and all it takes is for one of us to take a few photos and then arrive home (so google photos on android detects the wifi and starts syncing photos to the google servers) and the connection would be unusable for gaming / streaming. Let alone if all of us have taken photos and arrive home. There are many other similar scenarios that make me want the up-link capacity.

High upload is one of those things where if you don't have it, it's pretty hard to get into the usage patterns that would require it (eg. cloud backups), so if you don't have it already you often won't feel the need for it; I think over time, people will come to demand it just like they do with high download, though.
