Hi,
I hope someone from Cool Ideas can help us, since calling you guys possibly gets me the wrong info, and responding to emails gets ignored.
I work in a small business and we have recently moved into a new building.
We were told that fibre is available in our area. So we contacted Webafrica and they said, yes, there is vumatel fibre, we can sign up. So we signed up, a date was arranged for vumatel to come to our premises. They did not show up, we had to phone them to find out what was going on. They told us they don't do fibre in our area after we were assured that fibre is there and ready.
We later found out that there is a DFA(Dark Fibre Africa) box inside our building and that some tenants already have fibre. So we did some research and found that you guys provide packages on DFA.
So we phoned you guys to get some details and guestimations of when it can be installed. The first time I phoned I didn't get the chaps name, but he said we could go for either the FTTB or FTTH packages, after explaining the benefits of the FTTB packages we decided that we don't need it for our small business of less than 30 employees and asked if we could rather choose the FTTH packages. We just need a stable internet that is faster than ADSL. There only needs to be one device that is connected to a switch which everyone has access to.
After I was told that it was OK to get the FTTH package on DFA for our building, I relayed the information to my boss.
I phoned a second time to make double sure we can get the FTTH packages for our building, this time I spoke to Mdu. He also assured me that we CAN get the FTTH packages for our building and all we need to do is sign up using the online application, he told us that we can just un-tick the applying as business option on the application.
So after we sent in our application we received an email telling us that we applied for DFA residential, but that vumatel is providing residential packages for our area and gave a link to the vuma residential packages. I replied, explaining the situation with vumatel, and explaining that we ALREADY have a DFA box in our building and that we have been told TWICE that we CAN get FTTH packages on DFA for our building.
But no one has replied yet.
So can someone please help us sign up so we can get fibre.
