I am in CC yes. I think you mentioned previously a Microtik router needs to be installed by CCC? The contractor that installed the FTU said he will be the guy to come out once i place my order with the ISP of my choosing.

Yeah they use the mikrotik to vlan off the DSTV stuff and then another for internet service, so they wouldn't need to install another device.

So the Mikrotik router will need to be configured and plugged into my DSTV FTU (pic below)?

Hmm nope that's a different setup, they used to install a Mikrotik with the fibre uplink and you would have the ethernet for the DSTV. I presume another fibre lead from the fibre splitter to a Mikrotik and then our device into that. Unless they have changed things up.
 
What does a blue flashing power light on my Vumatel CPE mean? My connection seems to be working fine otherwise, just happened to notice the light now.

Ok this is rather confusing. Will leave it to the contractor from CCC or Frogfoot to do what needs doing when they get to it.

Currently Frogfoot are not aware of our complex having fibre, so I don't know if a switch needs to be flipped for the entire complex or whether Frogfoot just needs to be informed by CCC that some of the installations are already done.

One of your consultants was going to follow up with Frogfoot and get back to me today with feedback.

I had the same issues this morning when I came downstairs I noticed the blue light flashing in the dark normally the blue light is stable its the orange and green that flashes.

I reboot the CPE and the router seems to have gotten a solid blue again.

@PBCool So I am currently also downloading a torrent, not too many peers, connected to about 90-100 peers, but my results are interesting.

Torrent peers over LINX, are super slow. Like 50-100KByte/sec per peer at most. Tragically slow.
Then there is this single torrent peer, which routes over HE.net, and from this single peer I am managing to get anything from 4-10MByte/sec.

This to me, is very strange. I wouldn't expect shaping on LINX, but perhaps something else on LINX is affecting it. You don't maybe just want to double check you don't have packet loss or buffer under runs on the LINX ports CISP is on? I really don't know what else would explain this really strange performance.

If everything checks out, I guess it must just be one of those things, unless it could be something else.

Sure, do you know if it's LINX juniper or extreme? We can drop a session to do some testing.

I cant remember which subnet is which, but also difficult to know which one is used on the route back :(

Only mentioned my previous post because I think it might be related to what John Temptus (think that is his name) was experiencing.

I had the same issue with the blue light, but mybroadband speedtest shows normal latency and speed. However, I cannot connect to either https://slack.com/ or https://www.speedtest.net/ but so far, all other sites local and international seem to be working fine.

Also, I can connect to slack fine over 4g on my phone, so looks like a CISP issue.
