I am actually seeing the same speedtest issues after all in Bryanston; logged #COOL-20180311-85016 about it.

EDIT: Heh, thread advanced a page or two while posting this :D

Seems like Durbanville, Vumatel (or it is coolideas ISP) is in the gutter today. Post above does not even talk about anything that broke in Capetown/Durbanville region yet its completely trashed even locally.

locally getting 70-90Mbit down on my 200/200 package. International varies at the same time at 50% or less than the local speed. Lol 28Mbit/s to London server on a 200/200 package, Ive gone beyond being angry bout these constant issues and now simply think this is all being run by a bunch of clowns.

What seems to be the issue today, I am really getting tired of these constant issues every week there seems to be some new issue that pops up over and over month after month. Its getting rediculous.

Cape Town issues are unrelated to the JHB Vumatel issue, we are dealing with the area issues in Cape Town. Hopefully make some progress this week.

@PBCool - On Friday afternoon I logged ticket COOL-20180309-84733 which was only responded to 20 hours later on Saturday. I then replied requesting further information and I am still waiting for a reply more than 24 hours later. I am really disappointed with CISP's poor service!

Will have a look for you most of the time we await feedback from the line provider and they don't respond on weekends in general.

Just recieved from Vumatel backhaul break.

This has been resolved.

Absolutely trash tonight upload to EU :/ Vuma Durbanville

This has been resolved.

You sure? I'm still slow here in Gallo Manor but its better than what it was...but still half-speed. 25/25 instead of 50/50.

Yup now its back with the full 50/50. Fixed and Resolved. Nice.

It takes a bit of time to stabilise :) lots of traffic for a few minutes.

Downstream is completely dead... anyone else in the olivedale area on Vuma aerial with the same issue?

Streaming, uploading,downloading.. pretty much everything just kept getting worse each day this week to the point where I find it near impossible to stream a single episode without constant buffering, pausing etc.

Im sitting with 200/200 fiber but to watch movies I need to use my 10Mbit ADSL, total joke of a situation may aswell just cancel my fiber end of this month as it just seems to be a continous problem with no end in sight.

Peak rate of 38Mbit/s to a local server sitting a few KM from me on this 200/200 package. fast.com test as another comparison top speed im getting is 45Mbit/s. At the same time none of these results even matter when a 8Mbit/s stream cant keep a constant stream and ends up buffering every 20seconds.

I just about had it, not sure how other people on fiber can deal with these sort of issues and not slowly drive them insane having a 200/200 fiber connection and all you can do is reliably browse http(dont try to stream) , anything else is just not possible.

I can't even hold 700KB/s to EU tonight...

Exactly why I just cant accept the excuses anymore that its all just vumatel causing all these issues. If I can get 50Mbit to the edge routers and then unable to keep a constant 8Mbit stream from there internationally it simply cant just all be because vumatel which only manage the local infrastructure is also to blame for p%ss poor international.

I am now just sick of all the excuses from every angle as things keep continuing in a p%ss poor direction of unusability. All I am seeing is massive congestion locally and internationally and everyone is pointing fingers at someone else without a resolution forthcoming. I am refering the issue back for a couple of months now and right now during the periods that I need to use the internet for streaming or whatever else it is simply unusable.

Been with CISP for over a year now and haven't had a issue except when Vumatel have confirmed that there was an issue. Outage and congestion on CPT router.

Been having issues in the evenings for the past couple of weeks on my 100/25 package, Octotel, CPT, Claremont - in the evening the internet turns to turd. Was hoping that it would just pass, but it's getting consistently worse.

6.79Mbps to Vox CPT Speedtest Server - http://www.speedtest.net/result/7130732034 (98 usually)
5.26Mbps to CISP Randburg Speedtest Server - http://www.speedtest.net/result/7130744521 (70-80 usually)
1.44Mbps to Seacom London - http://www.speedtest.net/result/7130794864

I set up smokeping today with a couple of probes on hops, DNS servers + speedtests. Hopefully can gather more info on the degraded performance.

Opened up a support ticket: COOL-20180311-85030

Starting to agree.... Bursting to these servers (short 15 second speed tests) yeild easy 60 mbps.... but trying to sustain an actual connection over time is just impossible... absolutely trash...

With CISP telling us "Only 60% of our upstream bandwidth is used during peak" I really really want to know what the issue is and where it lies and what is going to happen to get it fixed! Because this is just not worth my effort anymore...

So line is back up, but now have massive packet loss...

When will a week go by when i have a stable true 50/50 line.

I'm tired...
